Default Moms with strechmarks on tummy

have you ever used Barmons? I was thinking of buying a couple tubes. It's like $20 dollars! I'm always skeptical of cheap products! They have before and after pics on their site but they could be doctored up! I am also considering tri lastin cream. They also have before and after pics on their site. Have any of you used these creams?

I suggest pilates or just plain crunches. Save your money. Even try Atikins for a few weeks.

I wish there was a cream out there that could get rid of or even minimize stretch marks. I'd use it on my arms. It's simply not a possibility though.

yeah i spoke with my derm about cutting them. Ijust don't want to risk them looking worst! I haven't seen any before and afters on cutting them open! I don't want a tummy tuck because my tummy is basically flat! I guess I may be stuck with them!

Just the Palmer's Cocoa Butter is all I can think of. I lost a lot of weight and I have stretch marks as well. They're there, and if you're a dancer you'll find that most customers, like myself, couldn't care less about them. In fact, I haven't seen a dancer that doesn't have them. I don't see them as anything major.

you know, I've finally gotten use to my stretch marks, but I've bought all sorts of stuff to try and get rid of them, I gained a whopping 110 pounds during my pregnancy!!

Anyways, when i was using the cream, i was so sure that it was actually working and my stretch marks were fading, after I stopped using the cream, I realized that it in fact did not work.

So, if you can buy something cheap and keep in your mind that it works, then, to you, it will, I've found that its not a big deal at all to have them, most people don't even notice. And the one person that does notice other than me (my boyfriend) doesn't mind them at all, thinks they're kind of sexy, because I'm a mother!!

Tightening your tummy generally makes the marks smaller and less noticable (don't know about if your tummy is already tight), so diet and excersize usually helps. However they will never go away & if they are dark, it will not help with that. Also, if they are new, they will fade with time. Mine were so bad after I had a baby, I thought I would never dance again. They soon faded and shrunk. I still have the marks, of course, but it is rare than anyone notices them, or if they do nothing is said. And I have a lot. In bright or natural light you can definitely see them. Thank god for club lighting!

Knew a girl who had a tummy tuck post-baby and, damn! She looked great! Don't know what she looked like before though.

Not sure if you are interested just in the lotions or are looking for advice for dealing with your marks, but here a couple things that help:

Use lot's of lotion wearever the marks are - plumps the skin and makes them less noticable
Stay Hydrated! Works in the same way as the lotion
Take omega 3's, B-vitamins, eat lots of fruit and vegetables - all good for healing skin & making scars fade

If you run a search, there is lot's of great advice on this site on outfit's (a tube dress can be a girl's best friend), lotions, plastic surgery, and make-up, for dealing with stretch marks.

You can have them lasered. I knew a dancer who had 3 kids (and the stretch marks to prove it), but went and had them lasered. It took several visits, but after that, she was stretch mark free. It's expensive, but if you REALLY want to get rid of them, that is the only way I can think of. I have a few stretch marks (from being 3 weeks over due with Makayla) but I consider them my "Mommy Badge".

Got 'em! "Mommy Badge" (love that!), Battle Scars, whatever you wanna call them. I wear them proudly!

Been in many a club! I've yet to see a dancer without them! Even the tinyest non-mommies have them on their hiney's, hips and thighs.

I've yet to hear a man complain about them!

And, of course... I've yet to see the perfect man!

I wouldn't sweat it! But, that's just me.

I just had a baby by c-section 6 months ago, so I have stretch marks AND a nasty scar to boot...I buy Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs and use it on them...it's a miracle worker! They disapear! I actually buy it in the tan shade and use it on my whole body so I look kinda like a barbie...I love it though!!

The last time I read up on laser resurfacing of stretch marks (because mine make my mid-section look like scrimshaw - we carry all up front, with huge babies, in my family).... price tag ranged from about $600 - $2000 US, depending on severity of the situation.

Also, post-childbearing, Retin-A cream supposedly demonstrates some results if used while the stretch marks are fresh - i.e., still reddish-purpley. Once they turn silvery-white, you're kind of screwed on any creams and potions working.

I have very light stretch marks on the sides of my hip bones from pregnancy. My aestitician recommend using a body brush daily in the area to exfoliate and stimulate circulation and new cell growth.

Stretch marks can never "go away" (w/o surgery for skin removal but then that leaves a scar too) but can definately lighten and blend in with your undamaged skin.

I spent $70 on a body of trilastin that yielded no results. Its a good feeling lotion, but you can get quality lotion for a lot cheaper.

does the laser work on the little lighter colored ones too that aren't from pregnancy? I have them on my inner thighs and hips a little and have forever. It must be genetic. My brother has them too.
