    Default Dancers with tattoos...

Hi, I'm new to Stripper Web but I have been dancing for a few years now. I recently went from having no tattoos, to being the proud owner of some extensive new body art. I have been covering it up with makeup for work, but it never turns our looking covered. Luckily, the club that I work in doesn't require us to cover our tattoos, I just feel that since it's pretty big it may be a turnoff to some of the customers. Does anyone have any advice? Either for how to cover it up, or how to get over the fact that everyone can see it?

If the clubs ok with it then go ahead and stop covering them up. Custies will like you or not based on many things besides tattoos, height, weight, breast size, hair color.....the list goes on. One very heavily tatted girl I worked with had a strong following of conservative suits, they loved her because she was different from them.

As long as you like yourself that will refelct in your attitude. I've found that for every one custie that daoesn't like my tats there are another five that love 'em!

Can you give us a description of the tattoos and where they are?

I have 5 tats myself, all on my arms. Two of them are quite large (from top of shoulder to elbow, almost half sleeves). I have two smaller ones (about 2"x2") on the inside of each forearm plus a celtic bracelet around my right wrist. Definitely not the most feminine tats! I started young (14) and most were done in my tough punk rebelious years. I don't regret them one bit but I feel that since they aren't the most feminine, it's best to play them down a bit.

My club doesn't require me to hide them in any way but I prefer to with my outfits when possible. I wear lots of cropped long or mid sleeve tops so that my tats aren't the first thing that catches the custy's eye. They see them during my stage sets and private dances and even then, I've not gotten any negative comments about them.

Don't bother with hiding them with makeup, even the best ones like Dermablend will rub off on your clothes or during lap dances (if with contact). I've tried it once on a small one and it didn't last long, certainly not worth it IMO to use it for work.

Wether you should cover them up or not is really up to you. It depends on your style (looks, persona, hustle) and your work environment (club style, clients and sometimes other dancers).

If you can post pics, that would be great!

i have 2 tattoos, they're on my shoulders and if my hair is down it's kind of hard to see them, but i've never tried to cover them up. I've found that it's a conversation starter, when i danced, alot of custys would ask me why i got them

i wondered about the same thing. I havent started on my tats yet (waiting for a bit more cash) but by the time Im done Im gonna look like a walking sketch book. I just got accepted to suicide girls tho, so i figure that should help, give that 'punk rock mystique' or whatever

I get "praised" by a LOT of customers for NOT having tattoo's or piercings. I am not sure what they say to the girls with tattoo's... almost all of the girls I work with have them and most that one across the lower back.

Most customers don't care either way as long as you're not completely covered or close to it. It'sjust one of those things they expect to see at a strip club.

I believe it really depends on the customer. Some think tatoos are hot and some don't.The guys that don't like them either are indifferent to their presence or find them a turn off(my boyfriend feels this way about lower back tats, dont ask why)

I don't know where you are located, but in Portland, OR there are several clubs that have heavily tattooed women there. Different men have different tastes. I have several small tattoos, nothing big yet, as tattoos cost a lot, but here, there are many alternative friendly clubs. But if tattoos aren't a problem at your club, I would not be covering them up, be proud of them, unless they say something like men are stupid losers, as most men would probably not find that amusing!

Woo-hoo for Pagan Strippers! I am too, as are three of my very good friends.

I have a large lotus on my back, which is usually covered up by my hair and very feminine anyway, so no problems. I do know that I've talked to custys who said negative things about crappy tattoos that live on some of the dancers at the club. If it's not well done and not well placed on your body, they seem to find it distracting. Otherwise, most seem pretty down with it.

Custys have often said the same thing to me and sometimes they make negative comments about the girls who do sport body art. I usually reply to their comments with a standard " it's their body, their right" line. Which it is in fact in my opinion.

I prefer not to have ink myself but I have seen and can appreciate a good tattoo when I see one.

I have worked at a dozen or so clubs over the years and 90% required tat's to be covered. With that in mind, my suggestion to dancers thinking of getting a tattoo in the future is to place it in a spot that you can cover up easily, if you choose or are required to do so..

Hi there and welcome to the forum!Where in DC are you?Our club used to make us cover tatoos up ( I have a small one on my lower back),not anymore though.Well,if you want to cover it you can use dermablend or any other thick consealer with powder over it and some people spray hairspary over it.

Actually though,if the tattoo is classy and pretty it can work to your advantage. It's all a matter of personal preference.

I know a dancer that has a dragon tat that starts at the top of her stomach and wraps around her breast and goes up to her shoulder. She said when she first got the tattoo she BANKED because of it.

I agree that postion, style, and quality affect the acceptance of most body art.

I have one small tattoo on each ankle and most people don't even notice them. I added a lower back tattoo (I know - so cliche - but I wanted it) on my B-day in June. It literally took me years to decide on the perfect design, but it paid off because I get a compliment on it nearly every shift.

I wouldn't cover up any of my tattoos if I was promised years of making bank every night. They are representations of my individuality and I think they set me apart from other dancers, at least visually. I know that these images on my body will be there years after I am done working in a strip club, and I don't regret or hide any one of them.

Guys who get dances from me are usually appreciative of my unique appearance. They are mostly conservative guys who want to get to know a 'wild' girl like me.
I am not one of these chicks with a butterfly on my ankle or a lower back bouquet of feminine flowers (not that there is anything wrong with being subtle)-
I have the words EVIL CUNT on my stomach (I am a proud non-traditional Satanist/Feminist) and several Death's Head moths coming out of "stitches" that start at the base of my skull and reach down to my tail bone.
I also have a few other random moths, a green spiral/tribute to a dead friend, an upturned chaos symbol and a recycling symbol.
(I guess even if I wanted to cover them up, it wouldn't be possible.)
I plan on getting many more - and they will probably be just as bizarre and controversial.
I also have a septum piercing and often do vibrant eyeshadow colors.

I work in a very "freak girl friendly" SC, and most of the other girls in my club have at least one tattoo or piercing. Many of them have colored hair and dreadlocks, mohawks and crazy (yet artistic) makeup. It seems as though the guys remember me for the unique ways I have altered my appearance and this is a good way to start conversations. It helps them break the ice without having to think of anything too cerebral. I have patented answers to all their common questions and use their interest in my body to my advantage. It's okay with me if custys remember me as the "Evil Cunt" - at least they remember me. It's a form of publicity that I never imagined would be profitable, but it can be.

Granted, I don't come home with enough money to buy a Lexus, but I am happy because I work in a place that is accepting of who I am and not who I try to pretend to be. That piece of mind is more valuable to me than working in a club that leans toward hiring more 'normal' looking women.
I fit in where I am and that is priceless to me.

So in my experience, it pays to be yourself.

Tattoos are tacky and low class. It is one of the thing that separates the classes even when the other boundaries are blurred. Although it is a tribute to how easily women succumb to pop culture. I would think low class guys or guys looking for a low class experience would love them. I wouldn’t cover them up. After all more people are looking for trashy women than debutants in strip clubs. I have always had better success with women with a tattoo just above the ass crack in the middle of the back. A sure score. Easy whatever. But I love em.

That's good to hear... The first time I went to work at a SC, I was sent home by the manager cause he said I had too many tattoos... It's not his decision who wants to look at me. He may not like them but others may!

Tacky IMO, but I'm not sure I'd go with "low class". However one defines them, tats are practically de rigeur in the local clubs around here. The strange thing I've always noticed is how a tattoos tarnish the otherwise beautiful and toned forms some of these women have. Many of them could be hired in upscale clubs if not for the tats.

While I will certainly defend the right of a woman to ink and pierce herself as she pleases, I think that any gal who is considering dancing (or any line of work where her ability to make money is dependent on her appearance) should take into consideration that her "body art" may be seen as a liability to those who would perhaps spend money on them or hire them at a top shelf club. Nonconformity and self expression are good and all, but only if you can afford the price tag that comes with them.

Interesting that a location rather than a design would have the most widely known stereotype.

From the Urban Dictionary: tramp stramp

Tattoo an a woman's lower back.. is indicitive of slutty tendancies.
    Also: Tramp tag

Example: "Hit up the chick with the tramp stamp"

Tell that to people of Polynesian ancestry... some of whom are strippers.

Then again... don't you LOVE how people assume things about other people and/or about strippers?

For the record I have four tattoos all of which I hide and they can only be seen by my husband but I love it when people ASSume things LOL

What exactly is a "low class" experience? Whatever they are to you, I see you enjoy partaking in them whilst frequenting your favorite strip clubs. HOW CLASSY OF YOU!
I bet you don't know a damn thing about the history of body modification...and don't bother looking it up on the internet and copy/pasting it here to "prove" to me how intelligent you are(n't). FYI: MEN GET TATTOOS ALSO...it may not be a tribute to their love of 'pop culture', as you put it. Maybe they feel it is an expression of who they are inside.
Just like when you have flashbacks to the various low class experiences you have attempted while touching yourself in your mother's basement....only less painful.

That's funny you say tacky and low class, lol. Some of the most high class and least tacky people I know have a tattoo. We are talking Dr.'s, lawyers, CEO's, businessmen, of all types and walks of life.

Even the guys who do not like tat's usually are not bothered by mine especially since I have a Tigger tattoo, lol.

And I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a "a sure score", since the only person who is guarenteed a sure score with me is my husband, and if you ask him; it's not sure enough, lol!
