I know Go Go dancing isn't exactly stripping, but WHAT exactly is it because I saw an ad in the paper today for a local club looking for Go-Go Dancers and I want to go for an audition, but I don't want to be totally clueless.

Go-Go dancing is usually in a regular nightclub, where the girls dance in outfits associated either with a theme or with the club. Depending on the gig, there will be at least two dancers, maybe more, working a particular club night or nights, for four hours a night (10pm-2am, for example). I have a friend who does this for a couple of nightclubs and she gets paid from $150-300/night, depending on the night.
Do you know what kind of club the ad is from? Hip-hop, house, etc? What kind of clientele?
"Women, not girls, rule my world" - Prince
"No parking on the dance floor" - Midnight Star
I believe it's a hip hop and latin dance club catering to mainly people in their early to mid 20's.

Unless you live in NJ, where 99% of the clubs are considered go-go because we wear a full bikini.Originally Posted by The_Oceans

I think the main difference, is that a go go bar isn't toppless, you wear a bikini. But then it's the same thing, you give lap dances, pay a fee, etc etc,. At least that's how it was at the one that I used to work at.

With all the BS we put up with Dylan, believe me, we ARE real! (:
Go-Go by Vegas standards, happens in night clubs or "ultra lounges" and the girls dance on platforms or raised stages, no contact with club goers. boots, booty shorts and skimpy bra top are the usual outfit. go-go girls dance like the dance shows that you would see on tv or music videos. hth!
so you have to have strong hip hop, latin or house dance experience?

"I very much resent it when people - maybe with good intentions or from a progressive point of view - keep telling me, 'It's their culture' ... It's like saying the culture of Massachusetts is burning witches." -Azar Nafisi

I do not think it needs to be strong ,experiance wise....it is kind of like natural flowing movement from that kind of music... but faster paced than what a stripper would perhaps be expected to do on the stage.
Im sure if you were able to watch a go go dancer... you could copy and then get into your own natural routine as well without much trouble...

You got that right!!!Originally Posted by Optimist
