Default For the bored and the curious.

Everyone is probably familiar with Meyer Briggs (i know i butchered the spelling, lol) personality profiling, so here are two more sites like that:

    http://www.sixteenflavors.com/typetest.php

    http://www.socionics.com

I went crazy there reading descriptions of all the types, relationships to each other, and guessing which people in my life fit what. Actually really accurate and explains a lot of what happened in the past, conflicts, attractions, etc.

There used to be a HUGE thread about this in the OLD forum. I did an extensive search and thus it is gone oh well... let's start a new thread!

    I am an ISFP

I took another test over ( here ) and came up with a different personality type:

    Your Type is
    ISFJ Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging

    Strength of the preferences %

    Introverted / Sensing / Feeling / Judging
    67 25 50 11

    ISFJ type description by D.Keirsey
ISFJ type description by J. Butt and M.M. Heiss

Qualitative analysis of your type formula
    You are:
    • distinctively expressed introvert
    • moderately expressed sensing personality
    • moderately expressed feeling personality
    • slightly expressed judging personality

I just took the other test that GCG took and got the same again, lol. I wasn't expecting to as I didn't like only having straight "yes" or "no" answers!

    Your Type is
    ENFP
    Extroverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiving
    Strength of the preferences %
    1 12 12 33

    You are:
    slightly expressed extrovert

    slightly expressed intuitive personality

    slightly expressed feeling personality

    moderately expressed perceiving personality

Hahaha Meea. I guess it's because I don't have to deal with online people offline, so I'm generally nicer online. Offline though, I'm the most antisocial person, even worst than my Husband which is pretty bad. I'm just happy with my own little family here, and close the rest of the world off.

I've taken this test a couple of times in the past at different links. My results the last time were

    INTP

    Introverted-88%
    Intuitive-44%
    Thinking-22%
    Perceiving-22%

Interestingly enough, the only in-person friendship I've recently established from another message board was with someone else who is also an INTP. And IIRC, so is his wife. I got along with them just fine! Otherwise, yes, I am very anti-social in RL, to the point I much prefer going to a movie or restaurants alone most of the time.

I took this my freshman year in college (it was required), but I can't remember what my results were. Guess I'll have to go find them later.

    GoldCoastGirl, thanks for the article!

Am an INTJ. No matter which test I take and when, it's all I get. Gotta accept it, I guess. It's just that I'm so used to think of INTJ's as proverbial geeks and nerds... Maybe I just feel inadequate as I've never been interested in typical geeky activities.

Vast majority of my friends have been and are ENFP's and INFP's. More likely than not I'll marry either one as well. On ISTP's I usually have mad crushes, but never try to do anything about it, as it wouldn't work; better as a fantasy.

Thank you for the link, and here is another one for you (and others who are also introverts)

Quite an interesting read for those who are introverts, or those extroverts interested in understanding their introverted spouse, bf/gf, children, co-workers, and sometimes even pets, etc. that much better!

Also a quick review of this book at this link, which will refer you to the above link

I've done some work on this myself and will post some general info.

A description of the Myers Briggs 'letters'

The Myers Briggs model of personality is based on 4 preferences.

Where, primarily, do you direct your energy?
If you prefer to direct your energy to deal with people, things, situations, or "the outer world", then your preference is for Extraversion. This is denoted by the letter "E". If you prefer to direct your energy to deal with ideas, information, explanations or beliefs, or "the inner world", then your preference is for Introversion. This is denoted by the letter "I".

How do you prefer to process information?
If you prefer to deal with facts, what you know, to have clarity, or to describe what you see, then your preference is for Sensing. This is denoted by the letter "S". If you prefer to deal with ideas, look into the unknown, to generate new possibilities or to anticipate what isn't obvious, then your preference is for Intuition. This is denoted by the letter "N".

How do you prefer to make decisions?
If you prefer to decide on the basis of objective logic, using an analytic and detached approach, then your preference is for Thinking. This is denoted by the letter "T". If you prefer to decide using values and/or personal beliefs, on the basis of what you believe is important or what you or others care about, then your preference is for Feeling. This is denoted by the letter "F".

How do you prefer to organize your life?
If you prefer your life to be planned, stable and organized then your preference is for Judging (not to be confused with 'Judgmental', which is quite different). The letter "J" denotes this. If you prefer to go with the flow, to maintain flexibility and respond to things as they arise, then your preference is for Perception. This is denoted by the letter "P".
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

    Type Frequencies (experimentally-determined)

    E is 75% I is 25%
    S is 75% N is 25%
    T is 50% F is 50%
    J is 50% P is 50%

This leads to the following values for population frequency :

    INFP 1%
    ISFP 6%
    INTP 1%
    ISTP 6%
    ENFP 5%
    ESFP 13%
    ENTP 5%
    ESTP 13%
    INFJ 1%
    ISFJ 6%
    INTJ 1%
    ISTJ 6%
    ENFJ 5%
    ESFJ 13%
    ENTJ 5%
    ESTJ 13%

To those with types of only 1% frequency. Ever feel alone in the world?

The most successful pairings involve matching only 2 of the 4 types.

Acceptable pairing predictions result from matching only 1 or 3 of the types.

World War III results from matching none of the types.

Sleeping through World War III results from matching all 4 types. (And being surprised to find almost nothing left of your world.)
