Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping.
bumrungrad does have a dental clinic (i think), but im not too sure what procedures its set up for. i imagine they do tho....send an email to the dental department there asking for a quote.

I'm kind of nervous checking out surgery in different countries, but this guy is really good?
he is good, but if you feel safer getting surgery done in your home country i suggest you take that option.
theres so many places in the us that charge roughly the same as thailand, and if you need a redo its a damn lot easier if its only a few states over.as opposed to a thousand dollar airfare.

That is true. But if I do decide to go with him, it's a good, clean, reputable place?
Their website looks really good, but again, never know.
ive been there twice, and yes,i would most definatly say its a clean professional hospital. i think melonie mentioned some time back that its listed on the stock exchange too.

I can vouch for mermaidnz's. Before she f--ked them up I was very impressed.
I must admit that if I was ever to receive a BA (it has crossed my mind just that long term .. would I really need them? would I be able to afford them? will I have them for life (to death) or will I have them removed? If I had the implants removed, can I live with my boobs afterwards? am I prepared to deal with any side effects? etc etc) I would personally go to Thailand.
Why not incorporate a bit of a holiday into the whole deal? If you can stay within your hotel room (I would personally take a laptop that had a few games on it as well as wireless internet) for a week or two after the procedure and do the 'holiday' before it... why the hell not?It would make recovery easier to a certain extent doing it away from home (for me personally I would be thrilled to just be out of my own country ... it would exciting.. relaxing).

Damn, I am really into this whole deal now. I mean, yes it is cheaper (Which is partially what I like about it) but also, sounds like a good international place to go (And it isn't Mexico >.<) And anyways, surgeons in the US can f-ck up surgery too! I guess my parents have always ingrained it into my head that going outside the country for surgery is BAD BAD BAD. Dunno why, I guess it's from all the Mexico plastic surgery stories.Originally Posted by GoldCoastGirl

And hell, maybe if I feel up to it, and don't feel too crappy I'd go sightseeing. granted, probably not too much.
opt to pay the extra to stay in the hospitals hotel. theres nurses walking around there all the time, so *just in case* at least you have that help there. as opposed to staying in a hotel further down the road.
the hospital hotel is also located a short walk to the skyway train and only 3 or 4 stops to Siam, the main foreigner shopping area. very nice clean aircon shopping malls (mbk is one you will hear about alot)
its extrodinarly safe there, i walked around at night by myself and felt quite safe.but theres always some precautions anyone should take when travelling.

I just looked at your links, and your breasts look amazing! Holy crap! You're really pretty too!Originally Posted by mermaidnz

Hey ladies![]()
I haven't had a BA, but a thought popped into my head while reading this. Before going out of country, it might be a good idea to see what your legal rights are *if* something went wrong. Not to say it will, but even the best surgeons have mistakes/problems. I don't really know what kind of rights you would have as far as suing etc, maybe it wouldn't be a problem, just something to think about!![]()
sxybrt. while your comments are somewhat justifiable....other countries do not rely on suing if things go wrong.
thailand is one of those countries.
if something does go wrong, tough shit. there is no malpractice suing. research docs properly and nothing bad will happen.
if you cant handle anything bad happening, maybe you shouldnt be having any surgery. it is after al something that can kill you regardless.
(side note, why the crap do americans like to sue!? )
mermaidnz, I agree with you completely, and I don't agree with suing as an answer for everything. However, being stuck with a large medical bill and a botched operation isn't an ideal situation either. Like I said, not saying the dr.'s aren't good, not saying a mistake would happen. But it could, and its always wise to make sure your ass is covered. IMO![]()
definatly nothing wrong with covering- but its not typical practice to sue in many countries.
That makes sense. Just didn't know if the patient would have any sort of rights to protect them from, for lack of a better word malpractice. I'm super paranoid about stuff like this, hell I'm sure there are dr.'s in Thailand that are better than Dr's in the US, I just would be scared if there weren't any patient rights. Guess that's why I'm sticking with my little boobs for now!!![]()

mermaidnz - went to the journal and I think your boobs were lovely in the before - do you think you'll keep the implants in forever?
Girls if you're heading to Thailand PM me and Ill email you a fantastic clothes/shoes place. Ive been buying from these two places for 3 years and love them to bits!
I got mine done there and I tell you what they looked after me so well... I would send my own mother there... Australian hospitals havent got sh*t on Bumrungrad. I am very very happy with my breasts and the service I received while I was over there. I organised mine through It has been 1year now and No problems![]()

Is going to Thailand only worth it if you don't live in the US? I've lived outside of the states a bunch of times and I'm not afraid of being in a different country.

Gotta plug my doc's too, since the thread asked for any other recommendations

Bumrungrad and other 'World Class' Asian hospitals are now becoming so well received in the USA that some 'self insured' US employers are now sending any employees who need major medical surgeries to facilities like Bumrungrad instead of using American hospitals and doctors. The justification ... without having to pay the huge US malpractice insurance premiums, Thai doctors and hospitals can afford to charge the patient / 'self insured' employer half as much with the hospital still being able to earn just as much 'profit' for themselves !
Also, Thai hospitals can afford to invest in the latest and best medical equipment (since the hospitals aren't legally 'forced' to use their profits to offset the unreimbursed costs of treating illegal aliens / uninsured / indigent walk-in patients as is the case in the USA). Freedom from malpractice suits (thus freedom from having to pay ridiculous malpractice insurance premiums) and freedom from high income taxes has also drawn some of the best young medical talent from around the world to countries like Thailand (where the malpractice insurance plus income taxes means a potential difference of 1/4 million per year in net income). This is simply one more case where the high additional 'structural costs' which have been legislated / regulated / litigated into the US hospital system have now become such a large part of the total cost of providing medical care in the US that it now makes a large amount of financial sense to spend a little bit of extra money on plane tickets in order to save a huge amount by travelling outside the country to avoid these additional US 'structural' medical costs.
Of course, this 'outsourcing' of medical care will eventually have big consequences. Fewer doctors working in the USA, for starters- meaning less tax revenue plus even higher malpractice insurance premiums for the US doctors that remain. Also, fewer 'insured patients' receiving future treatment in the US, making it more difficult for US hospitals and doctors to 'overcharge' insurance companies in order to recoup losses incurred by being forced to treat illegal aliens / uninsured / indigent patients.

It is really too bad, I was thinking about getting my boobs and my bf's teeth fixed this summer...

I'm sooo surprised you'd recommend them... I heard through the grape vine that yours just 'fell out' one day at work. What happened? I mean.. I saw some of the scarring... and a photographer told me that you always had to be photoshopped, but that it was okay.. because you had a hot vagina.. o.O
