    Default "24" and what else?

After having watched all 4 seasons of the most exciting show on TV, I feel empty inside, like there's nothing else to watch. The heart-pumping, break -a-sweat, passive cardio excercise entertainment this show gives seems to be one of a kind. I don't have cable or sattelite or anything, so I have to resort to watching TV on DVD.

Anyone can suggest a good show that is comparable to the excitement and entertainment value that 24 delivers?

Oh! My bf and I LOVE this show! We sit down with a bowl of popcorn and watch every week, can't wait for the new season!
Honestly...there are some good shows on TV at times, but you're right nothing I can think of compares to "24" for the one reason that it's episodes are all in a row and never interrupted with any repeats. That helps the excitement factor.
I started watching LOST and Desperate Housewives and they have so many damn repeats I become bored. Now when a new episode finally appears here in January, I really almost don't care anymore. It's been like 4 weeks of repeats so far.
I love Nip/Tuck, but it's season just ended. Las Vegas and Medium are pretty good shows. They are both on Monday nights on NBC.

OTB, thanks for the link. Very cool

Law and Order Special Victims Unit!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it! It's not a series, but it rocks my socks.
All of the Law and Orders are great, but SVU is definitely the best..
Also I like Cold Case, great show (bad hair on the lead detective.)

The Shield is back on Jan 10th! Yay! Also, I highly recommend picking up the Wiseguy DVDs. And have you watched the Wire, the HBO series? Most excellent. Of course, nothing's quite as fast-paced as 24, but these have way better character development and storylines.

The Shield, my boyfriend loves it, I recently stopped working nights, so I don't really have an opinion too much on what is good to watch, but maybe try the Shield

Rescue Me is one of the great FX shows. Dennis Leary's character facing his demons and fighting fires. The Shield is great, pretty much what NYPD Blue was if it debuted on basic cable and continued to be as intense as it was in its first few seasons. There's really too many "must-own" DVDs with possibly the exception of the "Married with Children" ones. I stopped buying those after Sony-Tristar screwed the pooch by losing the rights to the theme song Frank Sinatra's - "Love and Marriage" and even worse, trying to pass of syndicated versions of their shows in lieu of the original versions broadcast on Fox. Bastards.

    Sleeper Cell.

It makes 24 look like a crappy cartoon, lol. (I loved 24 BTw till I saw this one).

The season is already started, but next Tues Jan 10th, they are showing all the episodes and the newest one as well.

    It's on Showtime.

I reccommend you get a couple of good DVDR discs, and your DVDR ready to record, lol!

I love 24 too. The whole TV on DVD thing is like crack for me, especially that show--so suspenseful! I'd have to say the closest show to 24 that I also love is ALIAS. Plenty of suspense and wicked plot twists. It also has that whole agent saving the world thing going on too.

I also have to give big props to Lost and Desperate Housewives.

Thanx a lot for everyone's suggestions!

I'll be on Amazon looking for the DVDs..

I live in the boondocks and they don't have cable out here... so DVD is my only option..
