Default choose your BA doctor carefully!

Hey everybody! I need to vent and I have a feeling I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I got my boobs done in April. My criteria for choosing a doctor was relatively simple: my #1 priority was how they feel, so I basically felt up every girl at my club, and all the softest breasts apparently came from one doctor, so I made up my mind and scheduled my appointment with him without any other consultations. My natural breasts were extremely lopsided, so he recommended 325 cc's for one, 375 for the other. However, as the operation date grew closer, I took a good look at all my friends and their implants, and realized I wanted to go bigger. I told my doctor this, and he flat-out refused to go bigger, saying I am not a big enough girl for that size. I am 5'3" and I am a size 5/6, not big but not that small.

I went through with everything, and although I did get what I want as far as texture (I have wonderfully soft, natural-feeling fake breasts), I just don't think they are big enough! I mean I paid over $5000, took a month off work, for about a 2-size difference--> I was a B before, now I'm a D.

Now, having talked to the girls at my club who also got their boobs done by this same doctor, I realize we were all told the same thing, that we couldn't go any bigger. Looking around at other girls who went to different doctors, it is obvious we could have.

The point of this thread is to choose your doctor carefully, and definitely consider going out of your area, even if it seems like a bit of a hassle, if you find a doctor whose work you love, it's worth it! Yeah, my boobs feel good, but my doctor hustled me and my friends and now we're just going to have to get them redone to get the look we want. I have heard of a lot of doctors doing this lately: doing boobs a little smaller so the girls have to come back, and it is a pretty shady business if you ask me.

I have other things to spend my money on, namely travel, but I am disappointed now that I have accepted the fact I will be getting my breasts done AGAIN within the next few years.

Um... at your size, a D-cup is plenty big enough. I don't know why you're so unhappy with it. Did you want back problems and monster bazumbas or something? Why bother with a soft, natural feel if they're going to LOOK freakish on your frame?

Yes I want large breasts; if I wanted natural-looking breasts I wouldn't have gotten them done in the first place. 350ccs is not that big. And I think my surgeon should've listened to me instead of dismissing my request, because he is supposed to work for me and produce a product I find satisfactory. I have been looking over past threads and this practice of surgeons talking their patients into a smaller size so we have to return for more surgery within 5 years seems alarmingly common.

Some might be doing it for that reason, but others won't do the surgery if they think the woman will regret it later. And a lot of women who get those monster bazumbas that don't fit their frame DO regret it. It's not the size of the implant itself, it's the way it looks on *you,* and in my opinion anything better than a D-cup would look really weird on someone so petite.

If you're not happy, you're not happy. I'm just saying that he might actually not have been running a scam. He might have been looking out for your long-term satisfaction.

I know what you're saying but I have talked to a bunch of other girls who went to my doctor and we all feel the same way, which leads me to believe it is him, not us. Anyway I am just trying to urge girls not to be too conservative with size because sooo many girls (the majority, in fact) end up getting them redone larger, and it really is a waste of money and time, if you could've gotten the desired effect the first time around.

Going too big for a small frame with minimal natural breast tissue vastly increases the incidence of long term side effects as well as short term aesthetic difficulties. A thorough and consciencous physician considers the well being of the overall health of the patient decades down the liine.

350 cc's is really not that big.. first timers go five hundred or even six.. three hundred is tiny.

I have 850 cc's in both sides of mine and they are overfilled! Plus I had to get mind done four times to be where I wanted to be.. plus, my first set was messed up by the doctor I chose. So yes, thats excellent advice.. choose carefully.

I'm not sure if by your post you meant to imply this doctor wasn't good, but I don't think that's the case.

He seems like he's really concerned with keeping implants looking very natural. You said they're soft, as well as he seems to not want to make breasts larger than generally would/could be natural for your body size.

I think your advice is good though, that you need to find a doctor that has the same vision as you as well as really deciding what you want before you get the surgery so that you aren't pressured into doing something you don't!

Your PS just sounds like a reasonable man to me...any surgeon worth his or her salt knows that the bigger the implant (over 400cc), the higher the risk of complications.

If you wanted a different result, it would have been good to consult with more than one PS before you went through with your augmentation.

Can you give me this doctor's name, please? I'm researching BAs & live in your area.

It's better to "graduate" up to a bigger size than have a huge set jammed in. One of my ex- boyfriends paid for his last girlfriend's BA- she was about your size, a natural B & went right up to D cups. She had scar tissue & rippling right off the bat. He regretted his part in the mess because she was much cuter before.

Becca- yes that was exactly the point of my post: make sure your physician's vision matches your own(!)

And I did have a decent helping of natural tissue to start with, although my skin is in good condition because I've never had children. I have NO VISIBLE RIPPLES, although when I lay down I can feel some interesting lumps and bumps in the bags. I was a large B/small C, and now I am a large D. Like I said--I think $5000 is a lot of money for a 2-cup increase.

I went to Doctor Hause in Sacramento and would recommend him if you want small to medium, natural looking and feeling breasts. However if you want large breasts go to San Francisco! And like smartcookie said, don't follow my example, see as many doctors as possible until you find one who will really listen to you but of course will not jeopardize your health. I really don't think an extra 50-100cc's would have done me any harm

i don't have implants, so i'm honestly asking. doesn't getting large implants when you have small natural breasts all at once tend to give you the weird side effects we see when we google things like "breast implants gone wrong"? i mean the baseball boobs, the bolt on boobs, the hard ones, the uniboob..... or is that an urban legend? it's good yours came out really soft, hon!

A lot of surgeons go conservative to protect their reputations. it's a lot easier to get the "natural" look with smaller sized implants.

it is hard to find surgeons that will do 500+ccs on the first try because there are so many complications and you can typically only do overs (which some surgeons prefer not to do)...but if you got the results you asked for, I don't see the problem. You jsut got "boobie greed". If you are not happy with D, really think about it...what would make you happy? 50-100cc?

That's pretty much true- the less breast tissue you have to begin with, the 'faker' they will look. But her boobs weren't exactly small pre-BA- or at least, large B small C doesn't seem small to me.

Your doctor sounds good. If you wanted them fake looking...why did you choose the doctor who did the girls with the most natural-feeling breasts?

    forevernaked,
Thanks for sharing this info. I want the kind of tits you have. Soft, natural looking/feeling and about the same size(C/D). I will look into Doctor Hause when I start doing consults.
Are they saline or silicone? How are the facilities? Were they professional in their aftercare protocol?

And about your experience: I'm sorry you did not get the ones you wanted, but I believe he was just taking your best interest in mind. I don't think he was trying to scam or hustle you but make sure you are healthy and don't regret such a drastic change. If it's any consolation, I'm sure they look beautiful and you have probably made your money back already.

They are saline mentors, regular (not high or medium profile). It sounds like you would be very pleased with Doctor Hause's work. The facilities and staff were EXCELLENT, every person on his staff is very sweet and professional. Also he prescribes all kinds of medication to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible: anti-nausea patch, muscle relaxers, pain killers, and sleeping pills. The one thing I didn't like was Doctor Hause himself: he seems very rushed, basically swings in and out of your pre- and post-op appointments. The only times he slowed down was when my cousin was there on operation day, and the day after my operation when my mom was there. I got the feeling he was being...well nicer isn't quite the word, I guess just a little bit more personable, was because he saw them both as potential clients. This is NOT in my head, my roommate had her breasts done by him as well and said the only time he even looked her in the face was the day after surgery when her mom was there.

So he's maybe not the most charming guy, but he does produce the result you have in mind.

Who said they would look freakish on her frame? Do you know her personally? If so I apologise, but I am afraid she wasn't asking for opinions on her size. She was educating others to be careful when choosing a doctor.

The number one regret of women with implants is that they didn't go big enough. I am glad I took the time to find a good Dr. who was willing to give me what I wanted.I hope others are able to realize too, that they are paying for a service and THEY get to choose the size.

In my experience, the bedside manner of surgeons is pretty universally somewhere between indifferent and atrocious. Perhaps that's part of the reason they're surgeons and not internists.

It is true that some doctors will only do breasts in a way that they feel is aesthetically pleasing. His idea of what looks good may not be yours. Lots of girls these days want the fake Playboy look, not the natural look. Your doctor should listen to what you have in mind, and then fulfill your wishes while taking health risks into consideration. Maybe your doctor felt that your body could not expand any more than the amount of cc's he put in, or maybe he's one of the many egomaniacs who only does the kind of breast that HE prefers. All the more reason to research and talk to your doctors.
