I have not seen a doc yet since this just came up but i was wondering if you think you could catch herpes or any std from the pole or something?? I dont know if this is shaving bumps because i shave so much and my razor was dull when i HAD to shave real quick before work...or an std. i have 2 lil bums that hurt like hell. what do u think?? i will call my doctor first thing tomorrow but until then im losing my mind!!! this didnt start till i started dancing....

It's probably from shaving, especially if you used not enough water or foam.....I really doubt it came from dancing.

If you are really worried about it,then go to the doctor.

I hope so.... I think herpes and other things like that come in little clusters, not just a little bump here and there..right? Thank you I know u are not pros...just not some advice to hold me over a few more hours till doctor is in.

You can't get herpes from dancing. You could get BV from the pole, sitting naked on a chair, grinding, etc. But seriously, most of us get BV simply for existing. If the club is really unsanitary, you could get molluscum.

the chances of you catching an STD from non-sexual contact are VERY low. I once thought I had one too but it turned out to be an ingrown hair from shaving.
try waxing instead, and avoid bare skin contact with the pole or any furniture.
if the bumps dont go away in a week or two, they leak pus, burn or itch, go get tested...i'm not a doctor but i think those symptoms would worry me.

Probably is folliculitis. Are the bumps pus filled and/or red and swollen? If so, don't "pop" them b/c it will scar your pretty kitty area.

I don't have herpes but from what I've heard it is not painful. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

I put vaseline on things that itch or burn (like razor bumps or cuts in that area).. I don't think it has any healing properties (like neosporin) that way it isn't affecting the sore either way.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

ok, what do the bumps look like? a herpes bump is described as the following by sue johanson:

After contact, some people will have no symptoms for months or even years, but usually, symptoms occur 10 days -2 weeks after exposure. An infected person will probably notice a sensitive, slightly swollen, sore area that feels hot to touch, itchy, and it tingles and throbs. This is called the prodronal stage. Then, an irregular-shaped lesion appears, very sore, red and ugly. The surface of this lesion sloughs off leaving a wet oozy sore. The liquid from this sore is loaded with the HSV. And is very contagious. The lesion will be present for a week to 12 days, and will gradually heal over, leaving no scar.

also, you can google image search "herpes lesions" ((only if you have a strong stomach)) and find pics to compare to what you have. but i'm willing to bet it's just shaving problems. another girl posted a recipe for homemade tendskin; try that!

Get some anti itch cream from Aveeno. It sounds like you have folliculitis. Ingrown hairs could also be your problem if you used an old razor. You can use Benadryl anti itch also.

Also next time you shave, put a good unscented mousturizer (Aveeno) on your bikini area 10 minutes before showering and when you get out, follow up with unscented deodarent(sp).

Don't feel dumb. When I was in high school, my best friend and her boyfriend got into a huge fight because he thought she'd cheated on him and given him herpes. (He was a virgin before her.) It turned out that the huge bump on his penis that he was so freaked out about was just a large, painful pimple. Boy, did he feel stupid!

Just be honest with your gyno. It isn't dumb to be concientous about your body. It's better to be safe and go when get it checked out when something isn't right than it is to wait and put others at risk for your ignorance. So I am glad you are going right away and your taking it seriously.
I remember the first time I danced at this club I heard was known to be a bit dirty. The next morning I had this red bump along my bikini line. It hurt like hell, I was freaking out, so I immediately called Planned Parenthood and got an appt that afternoon. Well I sure felt better when the Dr. looked at it and said I had agrivated an ingrown hair. So I told her that I had been dancing the night before and she laughed and said, "well you probably rubbed your thong against it all night." Trust me, a million things went thru my mind, but I didn't feel so stupid when she told me it was an ingrown hair, I felt better about myself for taking care of my body.

If it IS herpes, I don't think you're supposed to put vaseline or neosporin on the sores... It spreads them. If it IS an STD, it's probably not from the pole but someone you had sex with... Definately let your guy know.

yah if you get anything you think is an std... dont douche, put powder..creams etc on the area till you hve been examined. everything can screw with the test.

and herpes can be ONE single bump that looks like a smooth red lump or a canker sore it doesnt have to be in a cluster.
