    Never Scared,but Scarred

okay. well, i'm from houston, texas and i'm about to move to hillsboro,or. well i want to star dancing at a club on portland. i've never danced before by the way. i'm a black girl from the south so i know i can dance sexy no problem. my twoo questions are:
    1. Can a black girl get hired and make money in Portland,Or
    &
    2. I have a 1/4 inch scar from a burn that i got at three months old on the right side of my face (from my temple to my chin). most people don't notice it when they first see me. i'm gorgeouse and men love me (i'm kind of a player). do you think this would cause me to not get hired? should i try makeup to cover it? and will they trip over tatoos? i have five, but there all in very cute, sexy places on my body (lower back, inside of thighs, lower stomach, pelvis).

alos. i'm used to krunk music and rap. r&b too. will this not be cool with the folks there. i heard there aren't too many blacks in oregan and not that conservative. i move in 4 days. i probably won't audition right away, but help me out yall!!!

    Much love,
    The Princess

If you have seen that you can bring something new into the clubs in your area, that is a good thing, and I think you should go for it! It will absolutely work in your favor to be one of the few (if not the only) minority in your club, because then ALLLL the guys who like dark girls will line up for you. Don't worry about tats--the majority of dancers have 'em. If you are as gorgeous and charming as you say you are, don't worry about your scar--> it will be no more of a problem than a girl with acne scars, stretch marks, cellulite, etc, and you'd be surprised how well the lights in a club mask our imperfections.

    Good luck hun!

Only problem may be the music. Most places wont play rap. R&B yea but not hardcore rap and nothing with cuss words.

And I agree with above about color of your skin. Being a minority can = big bucks. When I worked in Hawaii I was the minority. Blond and white... funny huh? Most girls were polynesian with dark hair. I did quite well there.

I don't think you'll have a problem. Portland has the most strip clubs per capita in the U.S. As far as the scar, i doubt anyone would notice. Tattoos, no problem either. Most Portland clubs hire anyone that walks in the door, i've seen women that were TOTALLY out of shape, and that's fine, because different men have different taste.

There are plenty of black people here in Portland, at least it seems that way to me, I'm from a small town in Washington that didn't have a single black person in it, kind of sad, our town was pretty racist, I'm glad to not be there anymore.

anywho, some of the clubs do play some rap, I have seen this mostly in the day time, which you wont make as much money, but to start out, you should be okay.

Just go in to the club with a positive attitude and you should do fine!!! When you get to Portland, I would stop in to one of the clubs, pick up an Exotic magazine, they're free, it has a list of all the clubs in town and in the surrounding areas as well.

    Good Luck!!

Well, with confidence like that, what do you need our advice for?

Tattoos will definitely not keep you from getting hired in Portland. I think they might even be mandatory in some clubs . Plus you have 50+ clubs to choose from; for sure you can find one that you'll like. Hillsboro is out west close to the Beaverton clubs which are larger; you might want to check out some of the smaller ones closer in to town to start with. Also, I wouldn't worry about the scar; if people don't notice it in everyday life, it will be even less noticeable in the dark lighting of a club.

It is really diverse out here, so you won't have any problems. There are a lot of black people and most clubs play r&b and rap almost exclusively, depending on what the dancers want. I agree w/ Susan about "tattoos being mandatory in some clubs" - funny, but almost true! I'm sure you will have not problems here. It's pretty laid back.
