How many of you have, or are thinking of starting a business and what is it?
Thinking of going into business myself. I'd like to know how hard it is to do both, dance and run a business, or is it inevitable that eventually you will have to stop to do either one only?

Yeah, I just bought part interest in a used bookstore. I'm currently moving all the stock online, which looks like it will take a decade. ugh. I should just hire a high school student to do all the cataloguing, but I don't trust anyone else to do it right. The joys of being a control freak.

Mine will pretty much take care of itself once all the cataloguing is done, unless I take over the lease for the retail location, which I doubt I'll do. Only thing is, it'll stop me from travelling so much.

Online businesses are perfect for dancers, imo.

    Feature costumes for sale!

Until the advent of the new Section 2257 law, I was heavily involved in operating an adult pay website, a webcam, mag and website modeling for other sites with other models etc. Yes it gradually required more and more of my time and attention despite being a primarily online business.

It depends on the type of business.

If you have a service type business, where you only work when people hire you or you're promoting yourself that's (IMO) perfect to go with dancing. I did that for several years, and would dance on the days that I didn't have clients. Right now my girlfriend and I are starting a jewelry business. She makes beautiful jewelry, but isn't really comfortable marketing it/selling herself. So she makes it, and I do the selling it part (talking to shops, selling at events, etc). It works.
