Cutting weight is actually pretty simple: Keep your body in a slight caloric deficit. Meaning: Burn more calories than you take in. Obviously, to do this you need to workout. Do cardio 3-4 times a week and don't be afraid to hit the weights, especially if you want to keep tone muscles (you won't become freakishly huge).

Now, dieting is the MOST important part of cutting. Don't overdue it and starve yourself, or your body will go into starvation mode, and obviously that's not healthy.
Personally, I try to eat 6 or so smaller meals a day. This helps keep the metabolism burning much better than the traditional 3 larger meal day. During these meals, eat complex carbs (oatmeal, brown rice, baked potato, whole grain stuff), good proteins, and don't be afraid of fats.

Make sure you get plenty of rest and take care of your body, it is your temple and your tool.

If you have any more specific questions feel free to PM me.

    Good luck!

Pilates and yoga are great at giving you toned long and lean look, as well as making you more graceful. With pilates especially you can see the results relatively quick.

Plain walking is great for cardio. I personally prefer walking outside for an hour every day (even half hour makes a difference, tho) and taking the stairs all the time/walking uphill, as opposed to treadmill/stairmaster at a gym, cuz it's less boring and I don't even see it as a work out, but the results are there. Make sure you walk fast enough to feel your heart rate go up. Does miracles for stress/depression/anxiety too.

Eat whatever you want but small portions, and by whatever I mean anything except processed/starchy/refined sugar stuff (junk food in short; opt for whatever if the best quality and natural; the less ingredients it has the better - if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it). Salt and alcohol make you bloated, so go easy.

Drink a lot of water - fills you up so you eat less. Cut out soft drinks.
