    Default Narcotics or Anti-depressents?

Just curious, I've never been on anti-depressents but I have tried vicodent and percocets a number of times and I find they made me feel better when I've been depressed. I can even work out more on these. Thank God I've only tried them a few times and don't have access to them- I can see how they can be addicting! I think the percs numb me a little so I can more logically deal with whatever I have to deal with. I was wondering what you guys thought about this (the people who've tried both.)

Narcotics lead to a downward spiral.
I pick anti-d's for my drug.

    Ive been on both.
Percoset has a short term effect as anti depressants have a long term effect. This is why narcotics are addictive...people want a quick fix to long term problems. Sorry there isnt one.
As far as anti-depressants work well is the right one for you and seeing a doctor at the same time.
No doctor would Rx percoset for depression. Be smart about yourself.

Please stay away from the pain pills! As Lizette said it's a downward spiral, I've seen this happen to friends of mine If you are clinically depressed you need to see a Doctor and they will perscribe what is best for you.

I would recommend an anti-depressant over a narcotic. Narcotics can be very addicting. Percocet may numb your pain temporarily but once you come down off of it you will need more to keep getting the same effect. Some anti-depressants require tapering off of after taking them for a while but they aren't addictive. I think they numb you just enough to help you deal with and get through things that you are having hard time getting through on your own. I think you should see a doctor or counselor. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Yep, prozac. I'm bipolar. Funny thing is doctor gave them to me cause of my insomnia, history of depression in my family though. Didn't do shit for helping me sleep. It has been great for those days when I can't bring myself to do anything.
