    Default Facial Scrub

This is just a quick post about a scrub i got and i LOVE IT. I've been using it for about 2 weeks and i just had to rave about it here.

It's the Laura Mercier face polish. It's pink-ish, has a great scent and is the grittiest scrub i have ever used on my face.

The girl there said i could use it daily but im sensitive so i use it every 2-3 days.

Anyway, check it out if you can. Most counters will be happy to give you a sample.

Same here, although right now I'm using a great scrub by Freeman Botanical. I picked it up because they were out of St. Ives when I needed to buy some. This stuff smells really nice and supposedly fights blackheads. I might keep using this instead of the St. Ives, though I've used that one for years and like it too.

I can't see spending a fortune on scrub.

Soybeangirl, have you used Olay Microdermabrasion and Peel scrub, and if so, how does it compare in grittiness to Laura Mercier? Thanx!

I think the Olay Microderm stuff is more wet that the Mercier. The thing i like about the LM is that it's pretty dry so you feel like you are getting more grit than lotion like I think you do with cheaper products.

I prefer the LM or the Origins Dermabrasion.

I also love my st ive's! even though the buffing beads are quite abrasive for the face i love the way my skin looks and feels after i have used it... cheap and cheerful. I also use the olay micro derm and peel kit too but i might have to check the LM out. I'll check out the reviews for it on makeup alley.com

If you are a cheap ass and want results - use sugar! it's the best scrub! you can use it as dry or as wet as you want, and sugar contains chemicals that are GOOD for your skin!
    Glycolic acid comes from sugar

Oatmeal is also good to mix with the sugar - nice and gritty, and beneficial

I love the Laura Mercier scrub... When I was an artist for that line I recommended it to almost everyone, it's much more gentle than the ST Ives. It also has a light cleanser built into it so it's great to use as your am face wash or your cleanser/scrub after removing your makeup.

I second that! Sugar is an excellent exfoliant! You can make a paste out of the sugar and a little water. Sometimes I mix a little of my glycolic cleanser, which is liquid with some sugar and scrub away!

Cornmeal is a great exfoliant also, and like the sugar, it is natural and cheap!

LOL Yeah, I'm so poor I have to reserve the food for eating and ration the beauty products...
I got some Dead Sea Minerals mud & lotion at The Dollar Store & am really happy with it....it burns (salt) but my skin feels velvety from the masque....
