    Default Impulse buying.

I am shopping like a madwoman on the internet!

Where else can you fine a designer dior lace fitted dress skirt for 450, or jimmy choo boots for 399?

    E FUC*ING BAY.

I have spent WAY too much money and need to get my budget back in order. Any helpful tips?

I put a sign on my monitor "No more ebay!"

Llllll. I am the LAST person to give budget advice. I spent approximately $1500 just on makeup, hairstuff, and a few sweaters in the MONTH OF DECEMBER ALONE.

I will keep checking this post and mooch off the advice you get!

Yeah.. I can't help ya with staying away from eBay. I've been addicted to that place forever. If I see something I want in a store, that I don't want to buy right then in there... I go home, sign on eBay and get it anyway. Heh.

I try to ask myself..."Do I really need it?" Youll find that theres no way to justify a 450 skirt. Although I do see the need to celebrate yourself on a good month or just b/c you havent bought something nice for yourself.

In my case $700 new hair exstentions this time with better hair is justifiable b/c Ill look even better and itll be easier to care for while at work. Well, I could pay 400 and get cheap nasty hair and have the same lady muck up my down like she did before or pay for quality.

Oooh.. I missed that part. See, I don't go nuts on eBay or anything. I very rarely buy clothes on there, and it's only if it's way cheaper than I get them in stores. That might be the case with the $450 skirt, but damn.. I still wouldn't do it.. LOL

I like nice clothes and all, but I'm a bargain hunter. So in any stores, I head for the clearance racks first.

It's beautiful, but it's a SKIRT. $450 is more than I pay in rent! I couldn't imagine spending a month's rent on a single skirt. (I have roommates; our rent is split three ways.)

Hell, I feel guilty if I blow $50 on a nice dinner out for me and the bf. That's about as spend-crazy as I get. Then again, I have virtually no discretionary income.

that is a nice skirt! The only thing that sucks about ebay is that you don't know how the thing will look on YOU until you get it. I've made several mistakes that way. But you can always resell it and get at least some of your money back if it doesn't fit right. You also have to be careful about getting fakes on there though that one obviously isn't. I bought some shoes that said "Dior" in the listing and they were really cute and I guess I should have known since they were so cheap but they were NOT Dior, not even FAKE Dior, just some shit off brand that weren't even really leather. And when they GUARANTEE authentic a lot of times it's still not. There are tons of fake Louis Vuitton and Prada and shit on ebay so be careful. I admit I am totally ebay addicted myself and I guess that's why some people call it CRACK-bay!

Yeah, i bought designer jeans off ebay that I was almost sure would fit, but they didn't. It sucks.

But if you even manage avoid ebay, you are a shopaholic. It's not going to help to get rid of ebay. You have to get to the root of the problem!!

We all have our vices and you don't need to give them up completely. But be realstic. Do you ever think, "I could have bought ____"?

Don't look back at the end of this and have little to show for it except a closet full of designer clothing!

My vice is gambling. I'm really weaning myself off from it. I started in baby steps. I'm still trying and I have my moments. it's still a huge waste of money. I think "I could have been in the spa all day for what I spent in the casino."

I guess just think of what you could have bought instead, and which you'd rather havbe...that's my best advice from a recovering gambler (not really much of a shopaholic, but I think they are similar.)

To each their own. My mortgage is more then 5 times your rent.

This skirt is quality and will last. So will my house.

I don't usually spent that kind of money, but I do have some very nice designer items in my closet. But couture is a hobby of mine.

I see what you are saying. Trust me when I say that won't be the case! I didn't spend my "dancing" income on this skirt.

I wish we had a UAL here in Tampa. They had them in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and they have all kinds of nice designer stuff at lower prices that comes from New York. The most recent time I went there I bought some Dolce and Gabbana pants for like $50. You'd have to pic through the crap but they got new stuff in every week. Last time I went to New Orleans they were closed down even though they are actually in metairie where business is thriving now. I love designer clothes but I'm also a bargain hunter and won't pay full price unless I REALLY REALLY want something!

Me too. When i go to sak's or neiman's I go to the sale rack first. Also hunt deals on ebay and other places.

I have never heard of UAL. Do they have one in Boca Rouge still?

Actually, you sound reasonable about it. Maybe you are just having a little bit of buyer's remorse?

hey, what I tell the customers....if you can afford it and makes you happy, why not?

I found a link to a listing for the one in Metairie with a couple reviews. I don't know if the one in Baton Rouge is still open but I found a listing too. It's hit or miss though. One time I'd go in there and find tons of stuff I like that fits and other times I'd spend two hours and try on 20 things and buy nothing.

    http://batonrouge.citysearch.com/pro...quidators.html

also if you ever go to New York Century 21 is a great place for designer stuff for cheaper but I haven't been there for several years so I don't know if it's still open.

and tampa, that sounds like a nice house! might need to try dancing again so I could at least have a down payment for a house though I'm not sure how long I'll stay in Tampa.

Four-hundred and fifty bucks for a piece of clothing isn't extravagant at all. I have and I'm sure many of the male members here have suits that cost way over that. I wouldn't buy a pair of jeans for that, however. As for the item in question, I'm on the fence about it until TFD models it for us. Maybe if she does Christian Dior will use her to replace the hideous models they currently use, to the benefit of all parties.

I either buy on impulse or I am very thrifty. If I debate it at all, I won't buy it. The last things I bought on ebay were 5 gigantic 24 inch professional graphic-designer style CRTs. They blend the line between work and pleasure, so they were a good buy. Their weight has ruined a desk of mine though(they weigh 100 pounds each and I put two side by side).

I never make impulse purchases using credit, however. That's a quick way to ruin, in my view.

Well, I, myself have given in to some impulse buying, but nothing really that expensive.

put yourself on a budget, make it reasonable, keep track of all reciepts and bills paid. Then, you can save for something really big!!
