    Default Flexibility

    Hi everyone!

I've seen lots of posts about dancing/working out/hustling/etc, but I haven't seen anything on flexibility. Most of the dancers I have seen at clubs are doing splits in the air and the side splits and things like that, which makes sense since it gives a better view, but I am definitely NOT that flexible! Will this affect me getting a job or making $? Tips for being more flexible? Thanks!

Stretch. Stretch and stretch and stretch until it hurts, every night, and then stretch some more. That's the only way to become more flexible. I'm still working on it too!

I don't think flexibility affects how much you make. Your looks, personality, and ability to sell dances do...

its always good to extra impress the customers. im pretty flexible b/c ive been doing ballet and stuff for a long time. stretch all the time- while your watching tv, talking on the phone, on the computer....all the time. then rest like 10 seconds and go at it again. if its affective, your legs will feel like jello. if you dont feel it in your legs, your not stretching hard enough. do this every day and youll more than likely be able to atleast almost do a split in about a month or 2. dont pull a muscle though!

Yoga. Great for the body and very relaxing, imo. If you want to be flexible it's definatly the way to go. Most guys dig a flexible girl as long as she's doing something sexy. May be a good way to get a more unique signature move.

Flexibility is nice, but not at all important for money making. It can set you apart and garner louder applause, but it probably won't get you more dances. Flexibility can be detrimental if your show focuses too much on showing how flexible you are, and not on being seductive. I've seen this a million times.

Still, stretching is good for you, so do it! I'm also still working on it- I can do the splits now, but can't be bothered most of the time on stage . Took me two fucking years to learn, too! But I'm lazy- stretched like once a week.

heh, i was wondering about that too. I'm a contortionist, and I've always wondered how I'd do $$-wise if I showed off some of that onstage.

hi, can i ask two questions?

im a guy and i am interested in leisure stripping for my g/f, and a bit because i wanna see what i can do , and i was wondering two things:

is this site specifically for women stripdancing?

and also do you think flexablity matters in a guy dancing, i mean i seem to be more flexable then a lot of my friends (i cant like do the splits standing up but still) and im wondering if it matters/how flexilble i should be. can anyone help me?

edit: oh a contortionist, omg thats a big turn on for me, i cant speak for everyone but youd get a sweet rating in my book

This forum is open to both men and women, so enjoy!

I do think that flexibility matters for men as well. You don't have to do splits, but being able to move your body in a fluid manner is always good.

    Welcome!

It's all about consistency. You don't have to spend 2 hours a day in an intensive stretching session (though you certainly CAN! ). Stretching for short periods and doing it OFTEN is a great way to get results. When you go into a stretch, hold it for at least 30 seconds (a minute is preferable) without bouncing. If you feel *pain*, as opposed to a stretching sensation, ease up on the stretch. Push yourself to where it burns but doesn't feel like shooting pain. If you do it consistently you'll find that your range will increase steadily.

The poster above who suggested stretching while doing ordinary things is spot on. Put your leg up on the counter while you cook, lie on the floor in one of the many sidesplit positions while you watch TV, study in a drop-down, hamstring-stretching position, etc.
