    Default Jeans rant

    ARGH! I HATE JEANS SHOPPING!

In the past month, I've lost some weight (147 to 135...my ultimate goal is 125). I decided to reward myself with new jeans, since even my skinny pair doesn't fit anymore (I did a lot of weight training, so my body looks MUCH different, evenw ith a relativelys mall weight loss). Now, at Express, I apparantly am a Jeans size 4. In regular department store jeans, like LEI and Paris Blues (hey, they're cheap) I was a 13. A freaking thirteen! I am a dress size 5/6 with a 24 inch waist, and I'm a 13?! Why can't these makers have normal sizing, with some common standard? I felt so freakin fat!

They were probably juniors sizing, and not the regular womens sizing. They have like ten different groups of cloths now. Infant, mounths baby cloths, weight baby cloths, Toddler. young girls, older girls, juniors, missus, petites, wides, maternity, womens. Any body know of another section? It's annoying. Find what fits, don't judge yourself by a number, but looks. ~I think it is annoying also~
A neat trick for pants is take them, and while they are buttoned, see if they fit around your neck. If they fit your neck they will fit your waist(problem is for the big butted women, I have a hard time even with that). That trick saves on changing room time.

^^ Does that mean that even if you gain weight your neck will expand to fit? Or does that trick only work on thin women? Whenever I hear of tricks like that I wonder if they've ever been proven wrong.

Yep, the neck expands also. It's weird, I don't know how it works, but it has saved me a few times shopping when I didn't have time to try stuff on. It just has to do with a body proportioning itself.

I wish everyone made women's jeans like they make men's jeans. 28 Waist with 32 Length. Instead of having to get a bigger size to get the length right...or having to suffer through a slightly tighter pair of jeans to get them short enough. Or spending a shit load of money on jeans and then having to take them to the tailor to have them hemmed/etc.

All i have to say is...

LEVIS. seriously nothing fits better then a damn pair of levis.

there are many new denim lines that have came out with the craze of expensive denim etc that are womens and inseam., hips are the measurements..not size 7

I have a friend on my friend list that makes these jeans out of LA ..awesome girl you'll recieve em' in no time.

if you want her myspace page pm me.

I personally have spoiled myself with designer jeans. The quality of denim just feels so good against my skin. Levis have never fit me right, I usually have to go up a size to wear them, but yes after they have been worn and washed a million times they a quite comfy. I am fit but have a booty and I find Joe's Jeans and Blue Cult (7 year wash rocks!) to fit my body so perfectly!

I find good bargains on JJ, Cult, Seven and AG jeans at TJ Maxx all the time!

Calvin Klein jeans and Bongo jeans are the best! They are exactly the size they say. What I want to know who in their right mind would pay $200 for jeans. Has anyone else seen this ? Waste of money.

Sizing really varies. Coulda been juniors sizing or coulda just been insane goofy sizing. It happens. I normally wear size 8-10, but only if there's a normally. Sometimes there isn't: I try on clothes at thrift stores and find size 6 things that fit and size 12 things that are too small! Go figure! And I have a vest which is size 4 and fits just fine.

This is why outside of work I wear men's clothing. It's at least predictable. Sigh.
