    Default Working with temporary imperfections...

I have eye allergies from time to time, but they are quite severe... the skin underneath my eyes becomes slightly swollen and wrinkled. I know it doesn't look that bad by the time I put coverup on it and/or under dark club lighting. I ask people if they can tell anything is wrong with my face and they say they can't tell anything is wrong, but it just thwarts my confidence. It's so hard to work when you feel fat, unattractive, self-conscious. Anybody have any advice how to get over this? I know it's a mental thing.

Sometimes if I feel like complete crap then I wont go in. But if its like a flaw your describing and it cant wait ...I'll go in forcingly. eh Most of the time guys wont notice or they wont even comment. I had to work with a sty for a few weeks and I put alot of makeup over it and used less eye muscles when I smiled.

edit: When I used to get puffy face or eyes Id have some cold compacts around and place a light washcloth over and let it sit on my face to calm it down from being puffy. Avoid anything with chemicals in it; it may only make your eyes worse.

I use oley regenerist syrum, that seems to help the dark circles repair faster, and a cold eye mask(those blue things you stick in the fridge). The eye mask has also reduced sinus headaches, and swelling under and on the eyelids.

preparation H or caffeine lotion (cellulite cream) will shrink up the puffiness and wrinkles back to normal. it won't do anything for discoloration, though.

^^Make sure you get the older formulation Preparation H, the newly formulated stuff no longer has the same calming ingredient that dancers, models, everyone used for so long to combat undereye puffyness. The new stuff is just irritating and will make things worse. There is a thread somewhere around here on just that topic. I think they said the only place to get the older formulated stuff was in Canada. Sucks b/c I used to use it all the time. The caffeine lotion will work though. Sometimes a spoon kept cold in the freezer works too if you have 10 or 15 minutes to keep it on your eye area.
