Default Skin Problems on my butt?

I have pretty decent skin except for my bottom...no matter what I seem to have pimples[or what seems to look like pimples...it just looks so irritated and red a lot] on my cheeks....
    any suggestions?
you can't really tell under the club lights but I'm still self concious about it[and sooo embrassed posting a thread but i'm desperate].

mix up a solution of water and a few drops of tea tree oil and swab it every 4 hours. kills off all the bugs and soothes irritation.

sometimes sitting in lycra dresses all night makes it worse...

Try gently exfoliating a couple nights a week in the shower. I use Origins "Skin Diver" active charcoal body wash every other night just to help keep my body free of acne. As for exfoliating, try the Gentle Apricot Body crub from Swiss whatchamcallit company. It's in an orange tube or tub. That stuff works wonders on my face.

I had this problem all through out high school and it got even worse when I was dancing. I'd say using a sea sponge to exfoliate in the shower made it about 95% better. The sea minerals in the sponge work wonders. Anitbacterial soaps help too.

there are many types of acne and pimples.

One method doctors use and works is they tell you to go out and sit in the sun or they give you a type of cream which you apply to your skin, the old layer of skin eventually peels off and ull have a new layer of skin.

for other types of pimples, some doctors tell you to go to the beach and swim in the ocean water. The ocean water is salty and it kills all types of bacteria that cause these red spots.

So my advice check with a doctor bec there are so many types of acne and pimples and its better to know the right way to get rid of it better than trying this and that and this....

    good luck

I am soooo glad you posted this thread!!! I have had this problem for quite a few years now, and am super embarassed about it! Recently, they stop coming so often(I was exfoliating with Apricot Scrub) and I was thrilled. Then I bought a natural loofah sponge when I ran on of the Apricot Scrub. I used it two days in a row and when I woke up on the third day, I had bumps all over my behind! I kept scrubbing it with the loofah, and it just keeps getting worse. I don't know if it has to get worse before it gets better, or if I should stop using the loofah, but I am freaked out. I wanted to audition for a club this week, but now since this breakout, I am way to embarassed to go in! When I do start working, if I get another breakout, will it be noticeable in the club? I am super nervous about it! Do you girls just not go in until your bumps clear up?

To the above post, I have always found that my skin is perfect when I go to the beach, I guess now I know why! Do you think I would get the same benefit from soaking in a tub with sea salt?

Release~ Where can you get one of these sea sponges? Is it like a loofah or something totally different?

Oh yea just wanna add....have someone clean the stage at least once a night or something. Wipe down the pole. Youll most likely touch the stage with your butt or touch the pole then your butt.
I used to use Neutrogena body wash to get rid of my backne..maybe itll help your bum too.

I have had this problem too.. i use seabreeze in my wet wipes and use them everytime i get off stage or give a lapdance.. men don't seem to realize their clothes get dirty durring the day, even if they sit behind a desk.. the owners of the clubs don't often clean their stages like we (us woman) clean our homes...

    Unfortuantely No

I had a swimming pool and I asked if filling it with salt would be as useful he said no.You need natural see water and its salt and minerals.

But again recheck with a doctor,it all depends on what type of acne ,pimples or spots you have on your skin.

    Good Luck

p.s the good thing about sea water is it heals many types of acne/pimples and spots on your skin. Wheras sometimes creams and pills make it worse.

once they told me to get a leefah/sponge and told me scrub hard so that the pimples get peeled off,it made them much worse. So be careful with that.

^^ Yeah that is what's happening with me and the loofah. I may just go back to a regular exfoliator.

i have the same problem. i've had pretty good results with exfoliating in the shower, and swabbing on witch hazel twice a day. i also use tea tree oil for actual zits, and sometimes put on some of the clean & clear skin clearing moisturizer. i'm not so sure it would actually clear up the acne by itself, but it's excellent for acne prone skin that's also dry, since it doesn't cause further breakouts and helps to prevent them (theoretically).

o, and you can get sea sponges at craft stores or art supply stores, mesmorized. they sometimes have them at drug stores, but not usually.

The red bumps on the butt can be acne but usually are what is commonly refered to as "sweat bumps" or a Dr may call them "contact dermatitis" or "folliculitus" (not as bad as it sounds) - not actual acne. Simple friction (as in a grind style lap) can cause folliculitus (irritated hair follicles), also throw in sweat +dirt and bacteria, and they can become sweat bumps or pimples. The hair follicles/pores get irritated and sometimes infected, causing the red bumps. Do not pick at them! They can leave nasty scars!

You can get sea salts for the bath, that may help, but check the ingredients to make sure that's what they really are, and preferably no perfumes or dies.

Yes, stop using the loofah! Bacteria collects easily in them, esp if stored in the shower, and this may be why the problem is getting worse. The sea sponge and other suggestions in this thread are a much better bet.

Dabbing some "Zapzit" (my preference) on the bumps when they appear - esp. if acne or "sweat bumps" are what they are, after wiping down w/something antibacterial will often help them go away more quickly.

Hydrocortizone can be used to reduce the redness and swelling temporarily. Witch Hazel is cleansing and soothing (it is non-drying).
My friend swears by using a scrub on her butt after work to keep them at bay - I rarely see any bumbs on her so I'd say it can't hurt. If you have sensitive skin though, like me, exfoliating too roughly or too often can make it worse. In that case a more gentle scrub and the previous ideas may work better.

Witch hazel can be found in most pharmacies and drug stores. It is very inexpensive.

use tea tree oil for actual zits, and witch hazel as a preventative measure. you can buy tea tree oil at cvs (but not rite aide for some reason), or natural food stores. also, drugstore.com.

    Thanks!

Actually, when I was in high school and these bumps flared up, I did a lot of research on the internet, and came up with folliculitis. I was too embarrassed to go to the doctor, so I never determined that I was right, but now I think I probably was. I think the fact that I usually where either a thong or no underwear is bad since my butt is always rubbing on my pants. It is probably also really bad if you wear the same pants more than one(which I do all the time). I don't know though, just a thought. Also, I always found Apricot Scrub to work well for me, but just the regular kind, not the medicated for some reason.

    No!No!No!
I had this same problem my whole life (even when I was little) until I realized that the ANTIPERSPERANT I was using on my 'kitty' to prevent ingrown hairs might help my butt situation. I had the worst 'breakout' ever (after having spent a week on vacation in a wet bathing suit) and I put Secret (the one with Olay) all over my butt, in the crack(eww, I know) and in the creases where your leg meets your butt. It's so easy, and it works wonders!!

Make sure you replace the scrubby synthetic body poufs and natural loofahs once a month. They do harbor bacteria in all their nooks and crannies, especially if they never dry out completely. Using a bacteria-laden "scrubbie" can actually make the problem worse.

When I had the same problem in high school , my doctor asked me if I wear thongs a lot . He said to try to cut down on wearing thongs and nylons because they hold the heat in , it worked for me .

Something you probably already know : Don't try all of these solutions together, or else you'll end up with one irritated butt!

What worked for me was buying tea tree oil pads, meant for the face. I use them after showering and after my shift, before changing into my street clothes. No more bumps!

Well, I started using the witch hazel and so far I think it's working BUT the bumps have smoothed out but the red dot is still there. It just looks like a flat zit. Is that gonna go away? Some of my previous bumps left brownish scars which eventually fade, but it takes them FOREVER! Also, are these bumps noticeable in the club, or do you usually not dance if it flares up?

the red dot is the mark leftover from the zit you had that is no longer infected. (does that make any sense?) it will fade. vitamin E oil supposedly helps.

well after you shave always use an antiperspirant....yeah it works, then keep your wipes handy and also keep some anti funagl cream handy.....mine started as the little bumps..and I thought wipes would be enough and then one night....it was on my bikini line and I actually freaked out thinking I got herpes from my man, okay everyone laugh, but it was a fungus forming from the funk in the club....EWWWW! I sit on towels now and am always prepared...I have wondered if clorox wipes on the seats would help but I never get therein time to try them out.
