    Default Period Problems.

I feel kind of weird about posting this on a message board, but I don't have any real female friends who could possibly give advice, so I figured this couldn't hurt.

Lately, my period has been majorly whacked. And this is odd for me. Ever since I began menstruated at the age of 12 and a half, everything has always been regular. Average of six days, every month, etc. More details that you'd like to know, I am sure.

Last month, my period started a week early and lasted for two weeks. I was freaked out, but it eventually went away, and so I didn't seek a doctor's help. My mother and sister told me that doctor's wouldn't really care or worry unless it had been going on for a month or so. My period stopped about a week and a half ago. And this morning, it is back again. I have cramps worse than I've had in about a year, I've been dizzy, and just plain miserable. I should be ovulating at this time, not bleeding.

Has anyone else had this happen? Should I worry? I am going to try to make a doctor's appointment as soon as possible, but I don't know if they can even help.

I know that some women have period problems due to their birth control, getting used to it. And I don't think that is what is causing this weird flux, as I have been on the patch for eleven months now, and have never had any sort of side affects. I have always changed my patch on time. So, I don't know what it could be caused from.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, because my hypochondriac brain is freaking me out with possibilities of what it could be.

Go to your Ob/gyn you could have any sort of problems. You could have an STD, endometriosis, cysts, etc.

Go to a doctor WHO WILL CARE that you've been bleeding for more than a week. Let them know that you keep track of how long you menstrate, and that up until recently, this is not changing.

What your doc may do is first put you on birthcontrol pills to make your period regular. That is what mine did. After that, I still needed surgery. Everygirl is different though. But please make sure you go to an OB/GYN, not just a regular family practice doctor.
