well, i have no experience in this catagory, but it seems like if youve been dancing at private parties, you already have a feel for dancing. what you could do is just adapt it to the pole and just have a basic idea of what you wanna do, u could kinda practice on something in your house that can simulate a pole.

what i think is you shouldnt worry about it too much because the other girls who are auditioning will probly have the same problems.

    good luck!

For your audition, focus of your floorwork and other dancing experience. Like flyingsquirrel said, you can practice at home some really basic stuff with something that can simulate a post. For me, I used the inside of a door frame before I got my pole. It's good to learn to do really simple things like leaning back against the pole sliding up and down slowly, using the "pole" to make nice poses, etc. It should be more than enough to get you through your audition.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Dance slowly. And, watch what other girls are doing. You don't even need to use the pole at first. In fact, some clubs like it better when a girl doesn't "hang" on the pole the whole song.

exactly....few clubs expect you to know about the pole when you first start...some girls work at places with no poles, and others never utilize it and still make $$. you already have experience, so you're already ahead of the other newbies. good luck, and you'll be fine!

Stay away from the pole- just do the stuff you're used to and already good at. The management won't care if you know how to use the pole, and trying it out and not looking right can only hurt you. The other girls will be watching...but don't focus on them.

the place i auditioned at we're all for starting girls straight away as long as they could lap dance then they trained you on the pole... i think most clubs work that way but i'm pretty new to it! also try finding a pole dancing club in your area, it's really popular now as a way to keep fit... plus you'll advance faster

I want to second the recommendation for www.verticaldance.com
They have a lot of pics of moves that you can look at for free. Or if you want to learn they have a catalogue of online video demonstrations that are EXCELLENT. It only costs £10 a month ($20?). I know many girls who have never had a proper in-person lesson, but are highly advanced due to these online lessons.

They also have a pole-dance forum over there if you need any tips... However, it is for pole-dance talk only and too much talk about stripping etc. can get you banned.
