    Default What should I say?

"While you are one of the most attractive and intelligent young women I have met at this club, or indeed anywhere else for quite some time, I do not wish to have a lap dance. It has nothing to do with you. I simply don't happen to enjoy lap dances. I am here solely to watch the girls dance. Since that is the case, and time is money, you really should spend your time with someone who will buy your services. On the other hand, I would certainly enjoy talking to a lovely, and sexily dressed, woman like you, and when it's your time on stage, I will be happy to sit in front and not only tip excessively, but encourage the customers sitting next to me to do the same."

Okay, how to I say that in one sentence, shouted over loud music?

Closest I have come up with is "No, thank you."

This should go in customer conversation.

It's not uncommon to pay for a stripper's time -- I'm sure if you offer them regular tips to sit and talk, you'll find yourself quite happy. :-)

Don't speak - that all ^^^ sounds bad and strippers hear stuff like that all the time (- often not genuinely and it sounds patronising...) Just say no to the lap dance and tell her you will tip her to spend time talking to her or to strip on stage. Easy (-; Tip and keep tipping. Off stage tips always rock too btw!

Works for me. It doesn't have to be creative. Polite and to the point usually gets the message across.

"I'm just tipping the stage" will work too. Just be sure that you do it.

My personal mish-mash of everyone else's replies:

"No thank you. But when are you on stage? I'd love to watch you up there." And if she's been pleasant enough, slip her a tip before she goes.

"Please have a seat (place dance fee $$ on table), I will cover your time for conversation." If this is not the case please only sit at the stage. Thank you!

I rather enjoy talking to girls I already know. I end up taking dances even if I was not tempted at the start. I don't feel it is right to talk with a girl for more than 15 minutes (to 45 minutes sometimes) and not buy lap dances afterwards.

Girls who are not my regulars, ask if I want a dance after 2 or 3 minutes. This avoids embarassing situations for both of us.
