    Default Swelling after hard workouts

    Just wondering if it's just me or if this happens to other people. I get SO swollen and retain lots of water about a day or two after an intense weight training session. It's seems to happen the most when I do legs and they are really, really sore. Does this happen to anyone else?

    If I'm really busting it I'll be really really sore the next couple of days, (to the point where I just try to sit and then just fall the rest of the way onto the toilet) but it's never gotten to the point where I had visible inflammation? If it hurts and/or is visible you might try taking some Ibuprofin and icing the areas afterwards. Also stretch before and after really well, and then stretch the next few days to keep the muscles from tightening too much.

    it sounds like you are probably losing a lot of fluids through sweat and dehydrating yourself. Without properly replacing that water, sodium and potassium, it is very possible that you could retain water the next couple of days as a result. Try keeping yourself hydrated, and if you are sweating immensely, throw in a little sports drink along with your water during your workout.

    Ok, I did some googling and I've read that Marathoners have this problem. Probably is a combination of dehydration and potassium loss. I didn't mention that I did ALOT of cardio too.

    LOOOLA ELL OOOH ELL AYE...
    When I got down to the point that I was losing that horrid tire around the belly (it looked like I was being eaten by this little layer of fat) (it's sooo almost gone!) I started taking CLA on suggestion with a minimum of 100 fl oz. of water a day, Of course my workout is now 2 miles of running in the morning, 2miles in the afternoon with a localized workout. Mondays I try to reserve for all running and cardio. But I may be beating myself to death if I keep up with it. It's just too addicting. Its not like I can swing pole and get paid to work out.....well ok, I can swing on a pole...just not SEXILY.
