OK let's see..... I guess it depends on how you view the world. Everyone can make a difference somehow, and I think that if everyone went out and did one thing (positive) it would make a huge change in the world. Unfortunately, most people don't do this so I guess we just have to make things the best we can. (rambles)
I mean, a lot of bad things have happened to me and mine, but I mean.... everywhere you look there's a miracle....and if you believe in reincarnation or future life karma (like yours truly) I think that if you suffer in this life, your next life is going to be meaningful and special. I guess it to me, is all just steps to a higher spiritual evolution. I mean....yeah things suck but if you let yourself get depressed, then you're just adding to all the negative energy that is already floating around.

I don't watch a lot of TV due to time so I get a lot of DVDs to watch when I do. One of the recent series' that I got was a documentary called Long Way Round. This was probably one of the best DVD shows that I've ever seen. It was suggested to me by my brother in law and I fell in love with the show after the first hour of the seven hour series.

The story is about celebrity actor Ewan McGregor (from the newest Star Wars movies, The Island, etc.) and his best friend Charley Boorman who is a somewhat famous Brittish actor. The two are best friends and decided to take 115 days of their life and ride motorcycles across the world from London to New York. It was a 20,000 mile journey through some of the most treacherous parts of the world including Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and the Rode of Bones in Siberia and they brought a third person to video the experience along with a support team to help them at checkpoints and such. The show ran for a few episodes on Bravo but then never finished and is now available on DVD. It was one of the most inspiring shows I've ever seen and the show of what true friendship is all about.

There was a scene that I remember where Ewan had to call his agent on a satellite phone he had to tell him something that was bothering him. They had just ridden through a few thousand miles of nowhere, encountering nomads, farmers, etc. Ewan was struggling with this being a wealthy, A-list celebrity now having to deal with people who never heard of him, had no care about him, etc., but were just great helpful people to him. He told his agent on the phone, almost in tears, "I just don't see the f--king importance of it all anymore...these million-dollar movies and stuff are just so insignificant in the world based on what I'm experiencing out here."

Beauty is all over the world, not in the major headlines, but in places you'd never expect to find it. You don't have to look hard to find it, you just have to look.

^ MY favorite Ewan McGregor quote is, "I can't wait to pull down my knickers and show them my REAL light saber." (Said during filming for the 3 Star Wars films he was in.) LOL

I've found having a sense of humor improves having to endure this world.

    hmmm. i guess not.

anyway...i lost my faith in humanity via experiences with people. i don't watch the news or read the paper. however...i do watch a lot of court tv.

why do some people still have to fight to get the same opportunities that are given to others?

thankyou, ms. topaz.... i was under the same impression.

and yes, the paper and news can be pretty dreadful..... sometimes i wonder why there isn't more of a market for good news. surely i'm not the only one who wants to hear it.
