Default I went to the gym!

I'm fat. I got out the measuring tape this morning and confirmed it. I've still got that perfect ten inch hips/waist ratio tho... 42-32-42.

Part of the problem is that my girlfriend cooks. Really cooks. Like, lasagna, pasta shells, etc. I got her a wok for xmas tho and now she's obsessed with cooking vegetables.

So I went to the gym today (it's free at my school). I did 30 minutes of cardio, then weights, then 20 minutes of cardio. Am I right that this is a good way to take of weight quickly?

Oooh, and guess what?! I can press 650 pounds with my legs!

I'm sorry, I stopped reading after I saw that you had a 42" bustline.

Hooray for you, though, it sounds like you worked out or something

You'd do better to alternate days of cardio and weights, so as not to overtrain in a single day (which will fatigue you in a cumulative fashion and increase the chances of joint damage) and cannibalize muscle proteins.

For example, you can do 50 minutes of cardio 3-5 days a week, and then do weights on your off days, since weight training is secondary to your fitness goals. Keep your workouts under an hour and you won't wear yourself down or hurt yourself.

This is a great book for women with excellent routines for getting and staying fit.

    Best wishes.

Wow! 650lbs!? I find it really hard to do 15 reps of 200! But anyway...*good for you* for taking care of yourself! Just don't let it slide, some days you really don't want to go but force yourself to anyway. Drink lots of water and try not to eat within 2 hours of bedtime.

I don't know how much weight training you're doing, but probably do more. Building muscle makes your cardio more effective, so it's really worth it. Plus having big pipes rocks

If you get bored of your routine, take a step class. I used to teach them- they are the most fun workout I've ever found, besides pole dancing. A good teacher will basically have you dancing, and your mind is so focused on getting the steps right, you don't even realize you're working out!

Congrats on getting to the gym!
