I doubt i will be going upside down for a little while but

are these ok for doing simple tricks like spinning and side spins??

    oh just found these aswell...

guess these are good too as they have a strap ie to stop them coming off...

(sorry about the pic size hope its ok at that size??)

Have you tried them on yet?
I wouldnt rec. them as your 1st shoe. The best 1st shoes are the ones with ankle straps. Those look like they might pinch the toes. OUCH!

I found that the second shoes heels wise are HORRIBLE. My feet would hurt after 3 hours of dancing. The heel is pretty but very uncomfortable. Also, the shoes without straps are way more comfortable for me that is, they were my first and only shoes in different colors. So I say go with number 1!

The second ones are hot but don't look too comfortable. Although the ankle strap is a plus. If I were you I'd find something a little more comfy for my first pair. Something more like the first one but with a strap maybe. Even though I've been dancing for a while I always tend to lean more towards shoes with straps cuz if not, I always fear they will come flying off..and yes it has happened to me before lol!

Don't wear shoes if they are uncomfortable when you try them on- just imagine how your feet will feel after dancing in them all night- ouchie! Especially if you are a new dancer and are not used to wearing 6 inch heels to begin with. I would also recommend shoes with ankle straps to keep them on your feet and give you a little more support.

As the moron who did strapless shoes as my first shoe... I do not recomend it. I also used a pair like the second ones you posted... not a good idea either... your putting to much on your toe and your ankles will SCREAM at you. A shoe like the first one with ankle straps is your best bet see if you can get more of a platform in the toe as well so your ankles wont scream as much. Ankle straps give you way more support and you will feel a lot more comfy in them and stable. I wobbled everywhere until I got ankle straps. Just remember even if your used to walking in heels its a lot different when you start dancing. Your ankles and knees are going ot be sore from the heels. So go for the most comfy pair you can find.

I have the first pair. They're great. I don't think they'd be a problem after a week of working. Any 6" heel, straps or not, is going to hurt.

The clear plastic shoes seem to fuse to your feet. Don't worry about them coming off.

The second pair looks like they will cut into your toes and give you blisters. I'm giving those a NO.

I was afraid of strapless shoes way before reading this thread. I've seen girl's strappless shoes fall off while they were on the pole and I've seen a few roll their ankles. Plus I'm much to clutzy to wear such a shoe. LOL. I do know girls that wear them all the time though. To each their own, i guess.

I would definately go with a shoe with a strap. gives you much more stability and you don't have to worry about them falling off.

Sometimes it is good to get basic shoes if you are new to dancing; they will match anything you wear because they are clear and this is a blessing when you are building up your dancer wardrobe and can't afford colour-matching shoes to outfits. To originate the style, shoes with diamontes, etc add that bit of sparkle. I also agree that straps on your shoes are a good idea. I've been dancing on-off for 4 years now and ever since my first ankle-strapless disaster when I was a newb, I always wear shoes with straps. The fear has scarred me for life!

BTW Nariah, the shoes you bought are pretty. Although, if you want shoes, always shop around first, especially as I find UK dancer shops often rip you off for footwear. Still, I've seen some cheap dance shoes in Birmingham and parts of London. Occassionally, you might find cheaper shoes if you shop online, even at the US based stores: sometimes even when you combine the shipping fee and the price of the shoe, you can get a bargain. Check out www.electriqueboutique.com or www.krystels.com. I like them both.

    shoe

i don't wear strapless shoes in real life, but I see so many dancer shoes I want without straps, like the one in the link....

Is there something I can buy to put around the ankle? I know some women use scrunchies- but I want something a little less obvious- i've looked on a bunch of sites and found nothing

I thought everyone word strapless shoes. They are what i prefer however, my first shoes had a strap. That's a good start but don't be afriad to try shoes with no straps. You may find that the are more comfy.
