Default "I Will Blog No More Forever"

I got a good friend that had kept an active Myspace blog. She was very opinionated, but (with some of my prodding ) endevored to back up her opinions with a factual base, or (again, more of my prodding ) make sure she stated it was her opinion, with no facts backing it up.

She just gave it all up, because she got burned out with it. She felt compelled, over time and almost unconciously, to write to the masses, rather then write from the gut.

Any of you bloggers out there get burned out by doing it on a regular basis? I have never "blogged" myself, partially because I generally keep my thoughts to myself, partially because I never think anyone would really give a crap what I say. Thus, the concept of "blogger burn" is something that sorta boggles my mind.

I'd write even if nobody read it. I use it as a place to put down my thoughts on the day (well, minus any REALLY personal thoughts), and I know a few people read it. It just helps to get all of it out and then I can move on and think about other stuff. Did that make sense? I'm so tired I can't tell!

I love to read other people's blogs. But I'm slow going myself. A lot of self-censorship ("my secret life might sacrifice my keys to paradise")

Yep, I guess you write for the masses. BUT I bet few people realize how endearing they seem in all the good stuff they share on the blogs.

I do get burn-out occasionally. I used to blog every single day when we lived in our old apartment. I STILL get messages from people who miss my daily Roach count. I'd keep a tally every day of roaches I killed, roaches I found, etc.. Heh. I never knew people really paid attention to that. But, they did.

Now I probably average an update every week or two. That's about all I have time or patience for.

well, nobody ever reads mine(ok, two people do, everyday, but thats it). and over the past month ive been kinda burned out on it. but im still writing... i just find that the posts are boring the hell out of me while writing them(so i can only imagine the joy my readers feel). i dont think its a function of the blog, i think its more of me being unsatisfied elsewhere in life. this is creating a sense of laziness in me. and im actually forcing myself to write them in an effort to keep me active in hopes itll bring me out of my downspell.

To be straight up honest, my life is so full of bizarre sh*t, I can't bear to share most of it.

Yes, I burned out, even though I was not that frequent on my blog.

Because it was a dancer blog that attracted mainly customers, besides not wanting to be too personal, I felt like it was just an unpaid extension of work. I couldn't bitch about customers, couldn't bitch about school, didn't want to talk about friends and family, so it turned into a bunch of boring anecdotes and a passive agressive outlet.

Not fun, I threw in the towel after about a year.

I had never kept a blog until I joined MySpace in the Great StripperWeb Add of 2005. I wouldn't say I've burned out on blogging, only because I post about every two or three months. For one thing, I don't like to talk about work. Also, to be honest, I don't consider my everyday life to be all that unique, so I prefer to blog when I have something possibly interesting to share. For the most part my MySpace blog has become a travelogue of sorts, as my postings tend to coincide with the trips I take.

A while back, a friend persuaded me to start one. I lasted one entry. I wasn't sure if it was: 1) adult ADD 2) if I were bored, I can't imagine how bored others would be reading it 3) I valued doing things in my life more than writing about them. Or any or all of the above. Or some other reason.

Hmmm... I'm starting to understand why I was bored with my writing.

My name is Blade and I'm a recreational blogger.
I love to write, but at the same time I don't like anyone to read my writing - the fluff I post here doesn't count as writings, I mean my poetry, thoughts, etc
I think I blog like once every 2-3 months, or whenever the mood strikes

I bitch about customers on my blog because either I'm stupid or I don't see it as a marketing tool. The kinds of customers who are my regulars and read it like my personality and think it's funny, anyhow. I've kept it up since 10/2002.

I'm not an exotic dancer, but I wouldn't worry about bitching about bad customers online, though maybe for strip clubs it's bad club plublicity or something. In my opinion (for what its worth), I'd think the bad customers know they are bad and don't give a shit. A customer either "gets it" or he doesn't. Although I suppose a few novices may get innocently confused and think the dancer is getting turned on by it.

My favorite is wiggling the tongue at the dancer:

"If I think its sexy when the dancer does it, she'll think it's sexy if I do it." LOL

^^^naw, bitching about the management and girls would be bad but I don't worry because I have yet to have a manager who has read my blog. Or brought it to my attention that he's done so. However, as Mimi in New York found out, if you get profiled in the New York Times, having management aware of your blog can bite you in the ass.
