    Default No tan

It seems like such a standard these days that Im still resisting.Does anybody still love to keep their skin naturally pale with no tan? I dont even like sunless, I feel like I look abnormal no matter what. I really like my nice porcelain colored skin. Am I the only one left????

Then you should stay with what makes you happy. It's the general public's perception as to what looks great.

Bottom line is if your happy how you look then Don't change for others.

i do not tan, in the summer, I go back home, and some times I get a farmers tan from working in the orchard, but I do not go sit out in the sun and I do not go to tanning salons.

i once tried tanning in a salon, for about a month and a half, just to see what I would look like with a tan, I only got slightly less pale and my aerolas became tiger striped. i decided that tanning is not for me. I'm pale, and I like it!!!

I'm very pale, and I don't bother messing with tanning or even sunless tanning (most of the time). It's just such a pain to keep up with- if there was an easier way, though, I'd probably do it.

I used to hate being pale when I was a kid, but now I have learned to appreciate it (you know, because it's a part of me or whatever).

there was one point in my life where I liked the pale look, but then you could see veins and stuff, and so I went back to liking my natural nut brown color in the sun or with self-tanner.

I think I'm in the process of slowly shifting over from the pale camp to the tan camp. I've been tanning about once every two weeks to avoid looking green on stage. I'm defeinitely not TAN but I don't look as pasty anymore. I used to be very protective and proud of my pale skin though.

I kind of go back and forth. When I'm pale, I get alot of compliments from men about how exotic I look with my dark hair and milky skin. When I use a fake tan though, I think I look more toned and it camouflages that little bit of cellulite. In the end, I made the same amount of money. I like sticking out more with my pale skin though.

I personally like to tan (mostly because I have a weird complexion and when I don't have a tan I look washed out) but there is this girl at my club who never tans. She has very pale skin and it works for her (plus it fits her persona). There are a few others, but she stands out. ;-)

in the clubs in japan/asia - white skin is considered extremely beautiful. we spend all our time trying to get brown while they fork out a fortune for shiseido whiteners and such.

western ideas of beauty often include being browner - so it might be in your $$ interests to do so - unless like sapphire says, it suits your whole go.

i agree on the whole cellulite/flab camouflage with a tan... why don't you do a little test. pick two friday nights - do a fake tan on one and porcelain on the other.... it's one way to find out which one generates more interest.

I'm extremely pale, and it works for me (just my coloring I suppose.) I have naturally dark brown hair, but it looks fantastic when I become a redhead.

I know that everyone thinks tan women look amazing, and I agree for the most part, but I like my light skin & don't want to change it. You're not alone at all

I used to be very pale then I started tanning, BIG mistake !! Yes it looked good in the begining but then after 5 years my skin looked like crap. Now I don't tan anymore my skin is way better and I think that this is the most important and also I think it makes me look more sophisticated and classy.

I never tanned because I'm half Asian and the pale skin, dark hair combo looks great. I wear sunscreen whenever I go out not just to protect the color, but also to prevent my skin from looking like leather in the future.

I was fairly tan this summer, but now it's all faded away. I think I would look better with a tan, but I'm not willing to get skin cancer later on just to look cute now. Also, I think part of the reason I do well with latino and asian customers is that they are looking for someone that doesn't look like them, and that includes having very pale skin.

I have naturally olive skin and used to tan (solariums). I havn't done so for awhile and don't even expose myself (like I used to) to the sun either now. I'm scared about all the damage it might do to my lovely skin. I'm pale for an olive-skinned girl.

Yes I wouldn't mind having a little more colour on my skin. I'm just not prepared to deal with the damage solariums and sun-worshiping can possibly do to me. As for self-tanner, I would have to go to professional alot .... and I can't afford it financially (mainly). Plus I have to question how 'safe' is it really... we're spraying chemicals on ourselves which gets absorbed right? I'm trying to age gracefully not pre-maturely.

I agree with goldcoastgirl. I have tanned in the past and I like the look, but I'm not prepared to sacrifice my health or start aging prematurely. Besides, I have always done well at my club with or without a tan, so there is no financial difference for me. I think that men like variety anyway, it's part of the whole strip club appeal. Light-skinned, dark-skinned, whatever. It's all good p#ssy to them

i have naturally very light skin, with light blonde hair and blue eyes. I tan about once a week to keep from looking ghostly, but I'm thinking of switching over to the pale girl look again. I'm watching "The interpreter" and Nicole Kidman's skin is so lovely...

Perhaps I'll lighten my hair a bit and go for the monroe, glamour look... hmm

I'm afraid of the damage and looking older too soon.

I like to look a little tan. However, I am not good with the sunless tanner upkeep most of the time so I'm generally pretty pale. I'm a lazy girl!!

No tan here. Wish I was or could but am just not willing to risk my skin. My boyfriend says that fake tans stink so I rarely do that either. I love how a tan looks though. *sigh*

LOL. I've been porcelain for about 2-3 months and today is my first day of tanning. I am looking forward to seeing the difference. I will always associate my light skin with maybe the first step of my career. Now it is picking up and I have plans about the future so I figured, why not try it?
Plus I need to cleverly camoflage some cellulite on my thigh. LOL

just wanted to let you know what this chemical is that get's sprayed on you.
it's DHA which stands for dihydroxyacetone, a carbohydrate (monosaccharide sugar) compound approved by the FDA for use in externally applied sunless tanning solutions. DHA is usually derived from a vegetable source like beets or sugar cane.

personally from spraying a lot of people I don't like the taste in the mouth and up the nose. Most places will offer you a small mouth piece that has a filter in it if you decide to be mist on or airbrushed.

I've noticed that some solutions have a bad smell to them while some others have a great smell. I personally liked Caltan and Jamaica me tan.Great color and no oder.

    hope this answered your concern.

i'm very pale and also have a lot of freckles on my arms and legs. part of the turf with being a natural redhead. i think i'd look good with a very, very light tan, but my skin doesn't do that. sunless tans are an interesting option, but the right color for me doesn't really exist, and i'm not looking for my skin to be as coppery as my hair.

besides, being pale sets me apart from other girls. me in black? very, very dramatic.

My skin is naturally a light-to-medium yellowish tone (though not too sickly sallow...). My skin tans very easily (must be the bit of Native American blood in me?), and so I used to be rather tan. However, for the past year or so I've been trying to avoid the sun as much as possible, and I have to say, I love having a unique skin tone. While other girls are trying to look dark (and somewhat orange...), I love having my natural skin tone. It especially looks good with dark clothing!

As far as tanning goes, I just don't see the point in paying to damage your skin. I'd prefer not to look like an old shoe when I'm 35. Be proud of your natural skin tone, whether it be dark or light.
