    Default good dancing music

i love dancing to some songs on the ying yang twins cd, united states of atlanta...plus im in atlanta! born and raised! it has some good songs on there that are easy to have fun to and dance to...number 4 is called "life of a stripper" which most of us can probably relate to. its always easier for me to dance to a song i can relate to and that represents me and where im from. is anyone else like this? like, it would be hard for me to dance to a more northern style of music as opposed to music from the south. ANYWAY, i love to dance to ying yang twins. lol, i think they made some of their songs especially for strippers.

I like YYT too. I'll be checking out that track--thanks!

It is pretty common for dancers to want to dance to music they can relate to.

life of a stripper - I didn't like it. I found it negative. I have enough people trying to tell how bad my job is.

I just d/l'ed it, and I'm going to have to agree with Miss_Eliza on this one. I found it pretty depressing.

I swear I am going to write a song called Yeah I'm A Stripper And No I Wont Fuck You So Shut Up And Gimmie Yer Money. But I need to find a chick to sing it, cause I would be doing the world a great disservice to sing publicly.

I am not really into the actual words for my dance inspiration(although i do check lyrics of new songs to make sure there is nothing offending.) There are some songs that have both beats and lyrics that captivate me, but i would pick beats as the more stronger influence in my decision making. I just go for certain beats that bring out my exotic energy/ movement. it is hard to explain to some but most in the business understand. It is just this feelin ya get. Anyway, i like yytwins to just chill and listen to at a party/bar and stuff. Thier music is exciting and fun. For exotic dance, more rock type and 80's pop bring out my natural exotic energy though.

I confess I haven't had a chance to get this DLed yet--I have a lot of shit to do first, like breaking up another catfight last night, dealing with the owner of this sweet condo, etc., etc.

But I will say this--if the song doesn't have a slow whiny feel to it, most customers won't listen to the lyrics anyway. Like the Nickelback song "Never Again". Great song, good beat, high energy--but about a wife-beater. Or "Jamie's Got a Gun"--even worse. While it may seem in very bad taste to play it, if I have a dancer who tips me well asking for it, and a classic rock crowd, I'll play it anyway.

I have yet to have a manager or customer come up and complain about politically incorrect lyrics or depressing subject matter. Typically they are too busy watching the dancer getting inspired by the song she likes. Now if it has a slower beat there might be more of a problem.

PDW, I love your idea for that song!

Hey, sometimes I have played 'angry girl' music if it seems like the right moment.

The best example of this would be the Lords of Acid "As I Am' from the Expand Your Head.com CD. You'd never want to play it in a nice big club with generous customers, like Mr. C works in. But I have played it a couple times in a smaller club on a night when the customers were dicks and pissing off the girls by insulting them and being cheap, to boot.

It wasn't going to make the customers any worse, and it made the dancer feel great to tell them to fuck off and tear up the stage, without having to say a word to them. Which made her able to go on and have fun, so when the cool customers came in later, she was able to approach them in a confident mood.

The lyrics are all about what the stereotypical jerkoff customer is trying to pull--bragging about his fucking car, acting like a big shot to cover for a tiny dick, etc., etc. It's pretty funny and a kick-ass song, even if it might be questionable under most circumstances.

A girl at a club I visited last night did one of the best stage shows I've seen yet to a song called "Angry Johnny" by Poe. The song itself is a little disturbing, but the beat is perfect for exotic dancing and it's amazingly catchy. It has a set beat and is sexy. It works for the more gothic or dark haired girls. Great song, y'all should check it out. I left a little turned on and needing the song. I could *almost* imagine Paige dancing to that song.
