try sleep ! lol - really dont burn the candles at both ends it sounds like you are a bit too busy . The body being tired is usually a signal .![]()

A good sleep schedule helps alot and also it helps to keep fat off too. Sleep like 7-8 hrs a night. Youll see a great diff. in a week.

Try a little bit of exercise before work. You'd think it would make you tired, but it actually wakes you up and gives you some energy. It gives you a burst of adrenaline that wakes you up, which is why you aren't supposed to work out right before you go to bed. Try doing some aerobic activity, like jumping jacks, or jogging for about 15 minutes. You don't want to totally wear yourself out if you have a night of work ahead of you, so just do enough to get your heart pumping. And drink plenty of water.

are you eating enough energy food? folks with fast metabolisms like yours can get away with murder in the bread, pasta and cereal area. make sure you're eating enough of all the food groups. (not just caffeine and sugar - which guarantee an energy flop when they wear off)
also, how is your iron level? if you are very skinny there is a possibility you could be anaemic??
well im borderline anemic, but its not bad enough even to take iron pills. thats what my doctor said a while back. what are energy foods? like fruit and veggies and stuff?

glucose/glycogen is the body's first source of energy. you get it from carbohydrates. you don't want simple carbs (ie. sugary food), you want complex carbs:
bread, pasta, rice, cereals (not sweet ones - the wholegrain ones).
most girls try to avoid it because they're not burning it fast enough to avoid it being stored as fat. you don't look like you store much of anything so you can afford to eat plenty of those things. (in balance with protein, fat and vegies of course).
do you eat red meat? if so, that's going to crank your iron levels back up. if not, then dark-green leafy vegetables (and i'm sure some of the veg girls can help lucki out with iron-cranking vegetable things to eat).
if you don't get 'noodle gut' like some of us - you could try having a big bowl of pasta before heading off to work... spaghetti bolognese, fettucine carbonara... the list goes on. those dishes are great energy sources.
when i used to do retarded things like.. try out for the police when i was 20... the only thing that gave me enough energy to keep up my times when running was kick-ass creamy pasta dishes.
cyclists and other people who burn a serious amount of calories can rely on that kind of carb diet too. while you're young you're blessed with this kind of metabolism - try to resist filling your system with sugary filth. (despite how seductive caramel donuts can be)

I need energy too! I am going to monitor this thread closely.

Get a juicer and juice yourself some carrots, cellery, a small amount of ginger root, and a couple apples..better then coffee in the energy, as its raw, no jitters.

I'm bottle feeding 2 kittens that were a week old on Friday and handfeeding a Cockatiel chick that hatched Thursday and hopefully one more that will hatch tomorrow. I'm getting up every 2-3 hours to feed them and I only have energy for maybe 6 hours of the day straight, then I'm tired. Does anyone have thoughts on upping my energy levels or maximizing my sleep? At this rate I think at the very least I need to shift my camming times.
Hello, I'm new here but I'm pretty savvy on giving the body what it needs and eliminating what it could do with out.
Food is fuel, give the body what it needs, not what the market says.
Coffee and energy drinks -specifically caffeine, will give you a kick in the ass before it kicks your ass and you crash.
Refined sugars also do this.
For a natural sleep aid here's a link explaining why raw honey and pink Himalayan salt are a go to.
and here's an article on 10 foods that boost energy, why and how.
Hope this helps. <3

Can anyone give specific examples of energy boosters besides caffeine/coffee/tea? Legal ones, like supplements or workout powders like jack3d?

I just posted this in another thread, but gelatinized maca root gives me non-jittery energy. Some people consider it an aphrodisiac too though, so ymmv in that department. I dislike the taste and put it in gelatin capsules.

^I haven't had any ass growth. I don't see why maca would necessarily cause it, though I do see the claims online now that I google that specifically. Weird! I've been taking it for a few months and haven't had anything like that.
coconut water with chia seeds, or chia seeds alone, kombucha. good long night sleep must help, if you wake up and still tired. check your blood sugar. i was tired, fatigued, i had pms like crazy, slept for hours just to wake up tired i had hypoglycemic attacks for years. now im like a Duracell bunny, i wake up at 5 am and i go to sleep at 9 pm. all day i have energy i dont need any caffeine and etc.
Also you can take a liver as supplement http://www.amazon.com/Vital-Proteins...ver+supplement

I don't really use caffeine and if I do it's in the form of green tea. I think I just need to take advantage of the fact that I have nothing else going on in my life and can sleep a lot for the next couple of weeks until my kittens chicks can sleep through the night. Also I'll try camming during the day on Monday and see how that goes.
I will pick up some of the foods and supplements next time I'm at the Asian market and post of they affect me
Oh and food wise I'm allergic to honey, but the rest of the foods I already eat regularly. I actually have majority of them in the kitchen right now
