Default Is This Your Phone Number?

Really Freaky.. Totally worked for me. Try it!

    1. Key in the first 3 digits of your phone number into a calculator (not the area code)

    2. Multiply by 80

    3. Add 1

    4. Multiply by 250

    5. Add the last four digits of your phone number

    6. Add the last four digits of your phone number again

    7. Subtract 250

    8. Divide by 2 at last

It didn't quite work for me though it got the beginning right. We have had extra numbers added to our numbers locally and when I took them off it got the number almost correct but it added an extra number in the middle.

Take the first 3 digits, multiply by 10,000 then add the last four digits. Same deal only more straightforward.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

I do point out this will only work if you have a seven digit phone number. I think I've figured it out though.

    100-5000
    101-5000

    1. Key in the first 3 digits of your phone number into a calculator (not the area code)

    2. Multiply by 80

    100 x 80 = 8000
    101 x 80 = 8080
The whole point of multiplying by 80 is to get you where the last digit is a zero, or more specifically so the last two digits are a multiple of twenty.

    3. Add 1

    8000 +1 = 8001
    8080 +1 = 8081

This step is to make sure that last digit gets changed to a one. Your last two digits should now be 01, 21, 41, 61, or 81.

    4. Multiply by 250

    8001 x 250 = 2000250 (100 X 2 = 200)
    8081 x 250 = 2020250
    (101 X 2 = 202)

When you multiply any of those five numbers by 250, the last four digits of the result will be 0250. Also you'll notice that the other digits in your result (may be three digits or four) is exactly double what your original prefix number is.

    5. Add the last four digits of your phone number

    2000250 + 5000 = 2005250
    2020250 + 5000 = 2025250
Now your meshing the last four digits of your phone number with that 0250.

    6. Add the last four digits of your phone number again

    2005250 + 5000 = 2010250
    2025250 + 5000 = 2030250
You've simply doubled the amount of your phone number, so its the last four digits of your phone times two number plus that 0250.

    7. Subtract 250

    2010250 - 250 = 2010000
    2030250 - 250 = 2030000
Now that 250 is gone, so now both portions should be double the amount of your phone number. Divide that by two, effectively cancelling out step six...

    8. Divide by 2 at last

    2010000 / 2 = 1005000 or 100-5000
    2030000 / 2 = 1015000 or 101-5000
    Voila. Your phone number.

Here's another try at a quick explanation, I'll delete it if you want to keep folks puzzled a while longer though.

Basically, you multiply the first 3 digits by 10,000, then add the last 4 digits to them:

    444-3333
    444 x 10,000 = 4440000; then 4440000 + 3333 = 4443333

a few extra steps that cancel each other out (as Audrey said) are thrown in to make it more confusing

Here it is broken down more:

    444-3333
    A. The first 3 digits are affected by steps 2, 4, and 8

    (80 x 250) / 2 = 10,000

    444 x 10,000 = 444 0000

    B. The "1" added in step 3 is multiplied by 250 in step 4 (1 x 250 = 250), then 250 is subtracted in step 7 (250-250 = 0), so you would have got the same answer by completely skipping steps 3 and 7.

    C. In step 5 and 6 you add the last four digits twice and divide by two in step 7. Adding the same number twice and dividing by two gives you the original number (3333 + 3333 = 6666) and 6666/2 = 3333

    So, Part A gives you 4440000, part B gives you zero, and Part C gives you 3333. 4440000 + 3333 = 4443333

If you are still confused, go find a highschool math teacher

We are indeed fortunate to have in our midst the legendary Professor Zephyr, Associate Professor of Physics, Mathematics, and Margarita Recipes for the University of Texas System, Home of the 2005 National College Football Champions, Huzzah, Huzzah.

After careful and exhausting analysis of this formula, it is my considered prosthesis that it is just one o' dem things.

Lol, yeah of course! I didn't really give it much thought as i have a huge dislike of numbers, but it's nice to know how simple this really is!
