    Default $5 dances for "Stripperbowl"

Every year we have something called "Stripperbowl". We have it on superbowl Sunday. We have a big screen we pull down in front of the stage and have drink specials, etc. The VIP area is closed during the game. Nor do we do stage rotation. During commercials and half time they call 5 dollars dances. We dance a song for 5 bucks. After the game is over is a good chance to make money because of the crowd we get. But during, I refuse to dance for 5 dollars. Normally a table dance is 15 dollars. I wouldn't mind doing it for 10 but for 5, I think that's too cheap. I think doing this causes cheap customers to come in. What do you guys think about it?

If I was required to work during this time in order to be able to work after the game, then I would do it. It will probably be very busy after the game is over, so if I had to work during the game, I would. I would think that a lot of guys would be interested in doing the $5 dances, so you may make a decent amount of money for the amount of work you're doing. For the Superbowl, a lot of guys might come in as groups, with friends, and it might not be that bad. I wouldn't like to do dances for $5, as I'm used to doing them for more, but there might be a big crowd, and you can always ask for tips after the dance. I don't think it would necessarily cause cheap customers to come in, but I think the goal of this is to keep the guys in a good mood, and let them have fun. What's better for a guy than a football game with the guys, beer, and naked chicks- nothing.

At my club dances on the floor ARE $5! But guys usually buy them in multiples.

If it was only one day a year, I would do it. It sucks only getting $5 from each dance, but it's only one day and guys are way more likely to buy multiple dances. If you end up working, hopefully guys are generous and tip you on top of the dance price too. I wouldn't work at a club that always had $5 dances though.

Yes, some of the clubs MAL (the company that owns our club) own in Charlotte do 5 dollar VIP dances all the time and allow light touching. I don't understand that situation at all.

I'm pretty new, but I don't like the 2 for 1 songs or anything of the like, especially if you are able to keep busy at full price.

This has to be looked at from a business and customer perspective. If YOU owned the club, on Super Bowl Sunday you'll want to have some type of promotion to attract customers. During the game as a dancer you will be sitting down a lot. But $5 dances during commercials forces impulsive spending. Guys will buy dances if this is run properly because they are inexpensive, and they only have a short time to do so. Then after the game is over, you can have business as normal. The game is only about 3-4 hours. If there are enough customers you should be able to stay busy during commercials and halftime, and some guys will tip you.

As dancers, we have to be more flexible and look at the clubs point of view as well as ours.

When a price drops customers buy more readily, and buy more of something. The higher the price, the more cautious people including ourselves are about spending money.

You probably wouldn't sell many if any dances at regular price during the game, but with a timed act now promo, dancers will make money they wouldn't have had before.

Try looking at the glass half full instead of half empty.

I agree Tina. You need to look at it this way, they could be like our club, and the guys won't even hardly tip at all if a "big game" is on, much less even do dances.

I wouldn't mind doing those $5 floor dances at all actually, guy will fork over the dough in hadfulls for that price.

Superbowl is what 4hrs long? Average a 5 min commertial ever 10 mins. Plus the half time show, which is what 30 mins? If your club cuts songs to like 2.5 mins each song then you can do 2 dances every break. That's $40 an hour plus another $50 or so duing half time. Not to mention tips on top of those dances.

That's a $100, just for wiggiling a little during breaks while watching the game. Not to mention, you still have the rest of the night to do reg priced dances and VIP's plus stage.

You get a big spender in there for Superbowl, and you could feasably make $500 + on a frickin SUNDAY!!!!

I agree it does kinda suck to undersell yourself, but it's only one day a year and only for a few hours, so just try to make the best of it.

If nothing else, lol work the situation!!! Go to the book store and get "The complete Idiot's Guide to Football 2E", or "Football for Dummies". Pretend to "read" the book during the game, and let the custys see. When they ask, tell em that you are intrested in the game and want to learn more. and maybe they can help, lol. Then during breaks sell those dances!!!!

    Good Luck !!

In between the commercial breaks, and during the game, your earnings potential is going to plummet -- they're at the club for the game on the big screen, and when the game isn't on then they'll want quick and sexy entertainment. A guaranteed $10-15 every 20 minutes, just for a few hours, with the potential for lots of VIP afterward, is a good deal. Imagine if they didn't have that promotion -- in the 5 minutes of commercial time, you'd have to hustle every guy individually for $20, instead of just being in constant demand.

In the model you describe, it sounds like you'll have plenty of opportunities to make an impression on plenty of guys and sow the seeds for post-game VIP action (hmm, maybe use lots of appropriate buzzwords and innuendo when talking to them & selling those $5 dances... score, action, tight end, touchdown, winning move, etc. Sounds a little cheesy but it also sounds like your club would be right in that sprit. )

I'm guessing the customers would not be interested in dances at all because of the game. To get their attention, the clubs lowered the price to $5. It's only $5. How could they refuse? So it seems it would be to sell dances at $5 for a few hours or sell no dances at all. The guys are forced to choose between us and the Superbowl, and we need to give them some incentive for that short time.

Curious to how long the songs are for the commercial break. 5 minute commercial break - $5 dances... maybe 90 secs or so... like mini dances and you can make $20 during commercial breaks which would be pretty much equal to a regular dances...

All of our songs are appx. 3 and half minutes. We do two during the commercial and I don't know how many exactly during the half-time.

You girls are right, I guess I should look at it as more of a promotional thing and look at the positive aspect of it. It just makes me feel "cheapened" to dances at a third of cost I normally do for a bunch of guys that are drunker and more rowdy than usual. Plus I fucking hate football.

Im surprised they arent cutting down the songs a bit for the promotion

Why do you hate football? I used to not like it because I didnt understand the game. When it was slow I started sitting with custys and they would explain the game - now I can totally get enthralled in the game and start yelling at the TV like the guys - they love this! LOL

I wouldn't work that day unless I was required too. Not really a smart choice... but the worst thing in the world to me is to feel cheapened.

I would pass up the money that night and work an extra shift next week.

I'd wander in after the game when the customers were good and ready.

Yep, unless you have to work during the game that's a good plan. Superbowl Sunday is usually pretty lucrative in my experience.
