Perhaps I didn't make it clear, but I doubt very much it was the same guy...

If it was the same guy it might somehow be slightly less disgusting, lol--I am so used to seeing them go back to the same one--that's nothing, compared to jumping right into another asshole's power trip.

I will never understand either side of this kind of relationship , when I was a roadie in the biz long ago it was the guy with the best coke and drugs - and usually he was an abusive asshole like described here . Has this mindset changed much over the years ?

That's a shame really. I know I have issues with my boyfriend but he sure isn't a total loser. I'll never understand what attracts a girl to someone like that. You have to feel sorry for her because like someone else said she probably has a very low self esteem. He might beat her ass for coming home without enough money. My bf met a dancer like that. She'd bring home $400 to her unemployed lazy ass bf and he'd curse her out for ONLY making $400 in a night while he made absolutely nothing.

I really just don't have sympathy for these types of women anymore. I guess I am old and cynical.

DJoser, maybe it is time to open you your own hole in the wall dance club (not the nudie type either.) Hire a couple of girls for the floor as "club girls" and start pulling in "the scene."

Look, there are some important quotes to arm yourself with in Life.

"Nobody finds God on Prom Night." Dennis Miller

    "So It Goes." Kurt Vonnegut.

And last night I was accused of spouting Fascism while discussing why some people excel & others don't. Which is OK. I knew Objectivism would pay off for me and it has. I have tired of being drained by the weak people of the world.
If busted teeth and broken limbs won't convince your girl in question to give up on thug boyfriends, nothing will. There's only so much you can do....

Right, I remember that line from Kurt, who BTW went to the same university I did, and whose every book I have read, except maybe the last two. If you read some of my really old posts, you'll see me use it, lol.

And it really does sum up the best way to deal with it, too.

The thing I think that got to me a bit--at least for a while that night, anyway--was that the girl really is very, very sweet. And the crying part. I am prone to the male tendency to pay a crying woman a little extra due.

Generally the kind of women that go for these thug types (of whatever fucking race, lol) are not nearly so easy to get along with or tempting to feel sympathy for.

Like the one other girl who was hanging on the same guy like glue a few nights previously. Her Bfriend regularly beats her for not bringing home enough money, and was the same guy who locked her in the bathroom with himself and another girl--then made her watch him get a BJ. Or the pretty nice but incredibly stupid one who instantly went over to the same guy every time the sweet one went onstage, asking him for blow. He was smart enough not to give her any right then and there.

And I reiterate that most of my distress was losing the ability to talk the girl up, for however long that may last.

This is a purely professional problem, that still exists in my mind. Here I have a really sexy, great dancer who responds so well to encouragement, and I can get the guys all hyped up for her--but no, now I can't.

The sight itself was disgusting, too. Knowing full well what goes on in VIP, and even laughing about it sometimes as I have done here recently--it's still nauseating to see it so indiscretely done, right out on the floor, to a blatantly obvious asshole.

Personally, the only problem remaining is that there could conceivably come a time when a really sweet woman in a bad situation could use some support, and actually benefit from it--and I callously assume she might do the same thing, and ignore her.

I see so many cynical people in the business, and the longer they are in it, the less sensitive they seem to be. To any and all situations. Like my manager, who got really pissed off when the young mother said she had to leave early because her baby was sick. Well, I have personally seen many women pull this trick (and convincingly, too)--only to find out they were lying. After 25 years in the business, he's been lied to so many times he automatically assumes they are all, always lying.

The guy does actually have a heart (once he really knows you are worthy of respect), and I like him a lot, but it's sad to see how much of a hardass he has had to become to survive so long.

This woman's baby really was sick, and she left in tears, now having to worry about both her job and her baby...

    So it goes...
