Would you work in a club where you knew they hired girls that were underaged? Would you rat them out? Even if the money was good?

Eh... depends on the club... I'd expect vice to be in there busting left and right... So be careful with everything you're doing... if the money's good enough for that risk... that's your own call. I wouldn't rat them out, though.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

I wouldnt. Illegals sure. But young girls is just a no-no for me. Cant watch teen porn.

I'd have to say I would definitely feel uncomfortable watching girls I know are underage stripping and giving lap dances. Personally I wouldn't rat them out but their presence would totally push me into uber-protective mode. I'd end up spending the whole night making sure they weren't being mistreated by anyone, which would affect my money as well as theirs.

I knew/know a club similiar to that if not just like that locally. Yet it isn't great money-wise. Regardless of the money, no. I want to be working with dancers who are legal this way it is less law-crap (or vice as you guys call it) I will have to deal with down the track.Originally Posted by TheLastBug
I'd rather earn a little less money (or average) in a club that is above board than one that is run shifty like this one you mention. If they are willing to hire under-age/minors/illegals... what else are they doing that's shady? Usually the shady bisness doesn't stop with just one thing...![]()

She had left the club (fortunately, for my peace of mind) and was doing blow and god knows what else with one of the sleazier DJs I have known--in exchange for (again) god only knows what depraved sexual favors.
Her friend, at least, was only a few weeks shy of 18. She was fucking the short, fat, ugly, and incredibly stupid hillbilly kitchen helper (who was being groomed for full managerial status, no less), again for an incredible variety of drugs.
When I naively mentioned this to the manager, whom I with nearly impossible stupidity thought might give a rat's ass about it, he got quite angry. Wanting to keep my job, I shut the hell up.
This club had all manner of shady and quite illegal goings on, not the least of which was its being a tax shelter for another club in a major metropolitan area in Florida.
There was a crooked cop on the dole (who was actually a pretty cool guy in spite of this). The manager was a meth head who has since died as a direct result of his habit, who tried to rape one of the dancers, and regularly stole from the register and accused his bartenders of the crime. I could go on, but I am tired of typing and I am repeating myself, for I have described this club and these characters before on SW...

I so would be calling the cops ASAP!!!
Call me a narc, I don't care. anyone under legal age shoyld not work in our jobs.
Personally, i don't think anyone under 21 should be working in a club that serves either, but I can't make that decision, alas.
I wouldn't continue working at the club either and as soon as I was out of the place, I'd rat the place out to the cops.
I can deal with many illegal activities but those that affect minors in the sex industry, I will not turn a blind eye to. No matter how mature the minor can be, I don't believe that they possess the emotional capabilities to do this type of work without negative consequences. These consequences can be healed and worked through over time but I strongly believe that a minor should never be working in the sex industry period. It's hard enough for most adults in the sex industry to deal with its issues for crying out loud!!!
I'm thankful to be working in the area I am for this kind of thing. The sex industry is largely left alone by LE. The one thing that will get their immediate attention though is the exploitation of minors in any form of sex industry.

who defines illegal?? the government?? just because a girl isnt 18 doesnt mean much... i know alot of so called GROWN women who act like little childern and have more aissues than ANYONE i know ..
i mean there are LOTS of girls who shouldnt be dancing ... fuck the world SHOULD be a perfect place.. who are we to interfere in other peoples lives... u never know that stripping job might keep her self sufficent and able to live somewhere OTHER than with her sexually abusive step dad

Well there wasn't much point in my making an issue of the one--who would be legal in two weeks time anyway. The crooked cop might have guessed it was me if I ratted her out, and in two weeks she'd have been legal, and I legally unemployed, lol. She left shortly thereafter anyway, probably to go get some of the shit that jerkoff DJ had.
I really don't know what I would have done if I'd known about the other one--the right thing, I would hope. She was actually a waitress but did get onstage a couple times--naturally I had no fucking clue that we all could have gone down for it--and rightfully so.
But underage dancing is far more common than we would like to think--it's easy to get a fake ID, and a lot of girls look a lot older than they are. Like the two I know I have worked with.
I have lost track of how many times I have worked with really professional dancers in their mid-twenties, asked them how long they'd been dancing, and did the math--to discover that they were dancing younger than 18. A whole lot of girls have gone this route.
Oh, and Forbiddenthoughts, you are walking on very thin ice, here. Stereotypes can sometimes be borne out--but we don't like to see it automatically assumed that dancers have abusive stepfathers...

Actually yes, the government does define illegal, lol. And is does mean tons in this situation.Originally Posted by forbiddenthoughts
Yeah and so have I, but that still does not mean I want to take the fall for some 17 yr old girl who wants to dance.
"Who are we to interfere..." Well I would be fuckin' pissed if I were getting raped in a back alley somewhere and someone walking by DID NOT interfere. This is not a business a child should be in; PERIOD. The lack the mental capablilties to handle the enotional aspects of it fully. Especially since they are technically still in puberty.
If the home situation is so difficult to handle, call foster care. Don't think that dancing is a quick easy way out.
It's just like (very streriotypical statement coming, lol) every teenager to think only of themselves and not the ramifications of their actions that would befall others. Like a club getting shut down, an owner going to jail, all the other girls working there not only loosing thier jobs, but getting charges due to working with an underage girl, and so on and so forth. I have seen it happen before and it is NOT pretty. The girl in question got counseling, and everyone else suffered due to her doing what she wanted to. Come to find out, she didn't even need the money (her parents were rich)she did it for the "rush". What a primadonna!!

Was this in Florida? This sounds like the story line to a Carl Hiassen novel. All this and hanging chads. What's not to love about the place?Originally Posted by Djoser
On topic, I'd get to know the girl better, and possibly tell one of the cooler bouncers, but never management. Hopefully he'll watch out for her, that being his job... And remember, not all sixteen year olds are alike. I've met a couple that were tough enough to chew your arm off.
No. I wouldn't want to work there, even if the money were good. Watching someone I knew was too young, give a lap dance to some old perv... no that would be too disturbing for me.
As for being a rat...Never! I don't believe in involving the cops. The situation would only give them more ammunition against strip clubs as a whole.
I knew some girls who started out while underage, but not at the clubs I was at. It's sick enough that 70 year old pervs are trying to buy sex from women young enough to be their granddaughters. If I found out that they were underage, I'd run like hell because the outcomes of cops finding out will not be good, and clubs that knowingly hire underage girls are sleazy pits. Management should care enough about the business to demand multiple forms of ID and maybe even have you sign contracts that will be shredded upon quitting.
I've worked with girls who were 18 but still in high school. Even though they were legal age, it still feels wrong because it's on the border of adolescence and and adulthood, and stripping is very much an adult business. I cringe when I overhear girls saying that they can't wait till they turn 18 so they can make tons of cash stripping. Stripping is an opportunity, but I think that you should mature enough to know what you're getting into. Most girls start stripping out of financial need, which means that they're more likely to weigh the pros and cons before "resorting" to stripping (I say "resort" because of the stigma involved that most non-strippers assume), and stay when they learn what an opportunity it is. This decision at least shows that they care about their responsibilities (heck, it shoes that they actually HAVE responsibilities), whereas many of the fresh 18 year olds and under who I've seen just want to be able to buy pretty clothes and a nice car. This is not always the case, but fresh 18-year olds are usually still under mommy and daddy's care and don't really need anything.
