    Default I have writer's block

O.K. so in my English class they ask me to write an essay and guess what it's about? RAUNCH. The teacher wants to know what we think about raunch. Raunch to him, he explained is Strippers, Porn Stars, and Playmates, I don't know what to write because i dont' consider that Raunch. What do you all recommend i say? I can't say i'm a strippuh! So really i'm not against or for raunch because i don't think that is raunch, should i tell him that? or am I wrong that IS raunch? and I'M raunchy, hehe, please help!

Well, just go further down the spectrum until you hit something that you think is raunch and write about that. There must be something you find deplorable.

Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

yeah, it's so relative and subjective... we label and define things until we do them, and from the inside it's not the same as from the outside, and if you really research something, and/or are exposed to something it loses its edge, the original sensation meaning, the mystique is gone, we become numb, jaded... it becomes norm. i think it goes for everything. how do you feel about bestiality, scat, snuf, etc? or is it just perversion rather than raunch? i'm fuzzy on definitions.

tell him you're too open minded for this, lol.

ps, ask your prof. his exact def. of raunch and why he thinks so, and if he thinks it goes hand in hand with judgment and morality, and what is morality to him, and if labeling is judging, and who really has a right, and doesn't it create predjudice, and isn't it a problem in our society as it is, etc. trust me, he'll give you another assignment, lol.

To me raunch isn't something someone does or doesn't do. Raunch is how people veiw an activity. People calling anythnig raunchy has more to do with their own sex realited issues then it does morals.

So to write about raunch you could write about what it really is that makes anything raunchy. And compare what would be raunch 100 years ago to what is raunchy now. And what is raunchy to different caltures.

Now if he just wants your opion on sex workers and the industy then i'm sure you can write a great eassay on that.

I'd say raunchy isn't a stripper. Raunchy isn't porn. Rauncy is a crack ho working the streets who hasn't bathed in 3 days and smells like asscrack. THAT is raunch!

I agree with Ms_Eliza and Nautilus, but it's really going to depend on the professor.
Do you know his reputation? Does he give good grades for agreeing with him (in that case, do what silverback says and go down the spectrum til you find something you agree with him about) or does he give good grades for good writing, in which case you can disagree and say it's society's views, or that it's subjective. Just don't be too wishy washy with the subjective point, either a) say x is raunchy, and here's why, b) say society says x is raunchy, and here's why, but here's an alternative why x isn't raunchy, or c) x is not raunchy (forget society) and heres why. good luck!
