    Default Detox bath.

Equal parts epsom salts and baking powder (Iused about half a cup of each) into a bath.

I did the bath 24 hours ago and I HAVE FELT LIKE UTTER CRAP TODAY!!!!! So I assume it worked, lol.

I remember reading about this a few months ago. They say NOT to do the bath at first, just soak your feet in a bowl with the solution for not more than 20 minutes because the detox can make you feel really ill at first - I was somewhat skeptical about this so I decided to try it... I will definatly be doing it again though. If anyone has more details about this please post as i really can't be arsed looking them up!

    I found a site: http://www.alternativehealingtools.com/cancer/bath.htm

    ......General Information:
You may experience flu-like symptoms during the detoxification because your body is ridding itself of poisons. You can get some relief from these symptoms by taking baths using epsom salts (1 to 2 cups) and baking soda (1 cup) in a tub of water and soaking for 20 minutes (soaking for more than 20 minutes may cause you to get too exhausted). On off days, you can put 1 cup of apple cider vinegar in the tub and soak.

how long have you stayed in the bath? how hot was it? have you been drinking a lot of water?

i read someplace that epsom salts really are powerful, you only should do it at night, and afterwards you need to get in bed and wrap yourslelf in blankets so you can sweat out whatever they'll induce you to.

i haven't done it for the detox purposes specifically, just for aches and pains after a night of dancing, to sleep better (seriously works), when i had a cold, or pmsy.

That's interesting thank you both (-:
I did 20 minutes in the bath and went to bed afterwards. Lucky for me I supose it's the middle of summer here and the nights are sweaty anyway. I drink alot of water and drank more because of the detox bath.
The baking sode makes it different to a regular epsom salt bath as epsom alone wont keep the toxins drawing (from memory). Epsom salt baths are a good way of absorbing magnesium according to my old yoga teacher - magnesium will help you sleep! Anyway, good things to remember for next time!

I've only soaked my feet in Epsom salt baths, but it's very good for them. It relieves aches and pains, and they won't stink for weeks after the soak. Shoes always make my feet stink really badly, so I try to do the Epsom salt soak on a regular basis.
