I started dancing again in October, so I'm not sure if there was a big drop-off in business when the ban went into effect in September, but things seem fairly slow right now -- slower than I remember from a few years ago. Dancers who've been at my club for a while say business has been dramatically worse since the ban started. The clubs up north (Joy's, XTC, Perfect 10) are outside of the smoking ban's jurisdiction, and frequently advertise the fact that you can still smoke in the club. I'm wondering if business has picked up up there, as the smokers flee to safe ground. Personally, I LOVE not having to sit in a smoke-filled room 8 hours a day anymore, but how much is it hurting business?
