    Default vacation spots

My friends and I were planning a trip to cozumel for this coming may, but since it was hit by a hurricane, I'm wondering if it would still be worth going there. Some other options would be Cancun or Cabo. I've never been to any of them, and niether have my friends. If you have experience, and can recomend one over the others I'd appriciate it. I really just care about beautiful scenery, good warm weather, and relaxing. I get enough partying at work. Sooo, which do you guys and gals think is better. Thanks.

I didn't find Cozumel or Cancun relaxing.
Cabo is beautiful. Try to have dinner here if you go.

I believe Hurricane Wilma whacked Cancun pretty good too. I'm sure you could probably score some excellent bargains for either there or Cozumel if you're willing to deal with the noise of reconstruction going on. I'm not certain as to what the state of air travel is to down there.

If this is meant to be a relaxing vacation as opposed to party time, have you considered some of the other Mexican resort areas?

My mom is in Thailand right now and has been sending me pictures. I've done the Mexico thing twice already...and seeing her pics it doesn't even compare.
The beaches are GORGEOUS and she's living quite comfortably off 150 dollars a week.
    Something to think about

Saint Thomas/ Saint John, US/ British Virgin Islands- fair prices, beautiful English speaking people, and not too far from Eastern Seaboard. Lower pricing in "off-season" (winter to spring.)

For my money you can't beat Hawaii...good hotels, good service, they speak English and everything is in dollars. I've been to Kauai, Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island of Hawaii. I've heard good things about Belize recently from a friend. I had a friend who was in Cancun when Wilma hit...it was a disaster. Just getting home was a nightmare and he said it'll be years before they get the hotels rebuilt.

Hello, Here is my opinion of vacation:
    Caymens- commercialized
Belize- beautiful as anything you could imagine, very poor
    Bahamas-would never go back
    Costa Maya-relaxing, kind of boring
Cozumel- OMG OMG had the time of my life, went to their national park, swam with the dolphins and gave lap dances to the bar tenders at carlos and charlies- the time of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, if its warm(I live in New England), with white sand beach and turquois water, and a drink in hand, I am happy. My next place I want ot go is hawaii- My hubby isn't that excited about going there though!!

Ah yes, the Cayman Islands ... no banking treaty with the USA !!! No way for the IRS to (legally) check on US citizen accounts, balances, or deposits/withdrawls in Cayman Islands banks !!! Sounds like an interesting vacation spot (with a purse full of cash !)

They both sucked for me.(Cancun/Coz) I've been multiple times. Kept thinkin it would get better. San Juan is o.k. Don't go to party. I had to look hard to find lame ass clubs there. Loved the spas and beaches though. No tax is a plus.
