    Laparoscopic surgery

Hello ladies I am having laparoscopic surgery in my lower abdomen on the 13th to treat Endometriosis. Any one else ever had this? If so how long recovery and what kind of scars?

My doctor told me a week off work and at least 4-6 weeks until I can return to the gym.

I had laproscopic surgery back in 2002 I had the tiniest scars, and now they are pretty much invisible. Recovery time is about a week but I've always been a fast healer though. I remember my doctor giving me some after pills i think they were for pain i didn't even need those, i had to stop taking them since they made me nauseus. Thats the only surgery i've had so I don't have anything else to compare it with, but all in all it's not bad. Hope everything goes well!!

Very tiny scars. I have had four laps and no one ever notices the scars. So far as recovery time, it is super quick, usually 1-2 wks max, although you may feel bloated for some time, and possibly cramps w/spotting.

I have had seven laparoscopic sugeries. This is usually an outpatient surgery pending you don't have complications. The incisions they make to laser any cysts or adhesions are usually around half an inch. There will also be one at the belly button where the laproscope was inserted that will be about 3/4 of a inch. The scars should all be easily covered by your thong (except the belly button one which is hardly noticeable) and will be very low around the pelvis. It takes about a week to recover at home and I went back to work in about three weeks.
