No offense, but I would rather work on helping the homeless people in the USA before I worry about the rest of the world.

^^Why are starving Americans hungrier than starving foreigners? I never understand the "start close at hand" method to charity, though I know it's common.

You only have to click a button! It takes literally one second. I've been going to the thehungersite.com almost daily (I try to make it internet routine) for years. It's free, and it feeds starving children. Really, how is this inconvenient or against anyone's principles?

This post is taken from another site I go on as well, but it sums up exactly how I feel so I decided to copy and paste it here. (With permission of course.)

What would possess any Patriotic American citizen to give a shit about world hunger? What you fail to point out is that the reason these people are hungry is largely because they have 5-6 kids each and they cannot possibly support them. Most of this food goes to Third World shit hole countries whose population could give a fucking rat's ass about Americans or our values. And likely countries that favor terrorism. So again,I ask you,why the hell should I care about them?

It is time Americans and Europeans focus on their own populations. We have our own homeless and poor. Not to mention our veterans, who are treated like shit. Our government sends more then enough tax dollars in aid to these third world cesspools, personally I would send them shit. Its about time people wake up...

Okay, I didn't wait for the whole page to load (I'm on dial up this week), but I was wondering how clicking a link will help starving people. Seems like there would need to be some kind of donation.

As a side note- I donate food to my local food bank regularly. I pay for the food (or grow it in my garden in summer), so it isn't really free.

Paris I looked at it and after you click there are 5 or 6 "donor" links that pop up on the screen. I think they're giving the donations so that people will look at them and think they are good companies because they're giving their money to the poor. Just a different way of advertisement for them.

Similiar if not the same as http://rainforest.care2.com/ the Care2.com "races".

I participate in the above races whilst also looking after my own 'backyard' (australia). I donate to national or international or local charties that deal with australia and/or my specific region/community (Sth. E. Qld).

Perhaps you guys aren't aware of the fact that there is a massive SURPLUS of food in the world right now. The reason there are starving kids in other countries has nothing to do with availability of food. It has to do with the corrupt governments of those countries who, when given aid money, just build another palace. For those who are unable to receive cash to squander, they refuse foreign donations of food altogether. They would rather have a country where tens of thousands of their people die every year rather than accept food as a donation and make them look like bad leaders. So while clicking these links may make you feel good, the cold reality of the matter is it probably isn't making one dent in the world hunger issue.
