I've seen it before, and I hate it. It makes me think of the creature from "Predator."

I think it's ok on some people...I couldn't pull it off though. My face is oblong and that would make it look WAAYY stretched out! lol
I also don't like this hairstyle. It makes your head look big, and your face look longer and stretched out. Maybe it looks good on some people, but every time I've seen it I haven't liked it.
I think this hairstyle is very cute on certain people, my hair stylist looks super cute in it, I however, well, we won't talk about what i look like with itI have no idea how to do it though.

I never thought of it making your face look longer, lol. Mine is kind of longish. haha. Oh well, I like my long faccia.

I think its supercute. It probably is a little tricky to do, like you said. Its called a pompadour. I remember seeing a few pics of Paris Hilton with her hair like that.
I have a friend who sometimes does that to the top of her hair and it's really cute on her but it goes with her look.
You basically just get the front of your hair out of the way, tease all the hair on the top of your head and hairspray the hell out of it, gently pull the hair in front over the teased hair and comb it smooth, then spray the hell out of it so it stays.
Make sure you have some spray-in conditioner or No More Tangles spray for when you try and comb it out, otherwise, OUCH!

The way I've seen it done, you pull your hair into a pony tail, leaving the bangs out.
take a small section, tease it, then secure it at halph way between ponytail, making it "poof up" Then take the other pieces of hair, and very small sections at a time, flat iron them, and secure around pony tail with a bobby pin.
Really, there are so many variations to the hairstyle, that it can be done to suit any face. It all depends on wear you put the "poof" and how high the pony tail is.

yeah.... you just take little rectangular sections of hair tease them, spray themand then lay them back. Gently brush them, and then pull back the hair gently. Its actually really easy.
the rectangles would look like this from above...use your imagination here haha
bangs ( [] [] [] o==== pony tail part
Get it? I dunno...lol. thats the best I can do![]()
Ha i wear that style all the time only shorter on me.
I found it easier to do on my hair when it hasn't been washed for a day or so.
THen you just pull the front part of your hair up into a pony tail , twist and pin at the back.
I've done it a few different ways.

moussing the roots right after washing, then blow drying from the roots upward, can give you more lift in the front region. then, with the help of copious amounts of hairspray, you can acheive full blown 80's pomp without teasing.just comb straight upward, spray, then drop and secure. repeat as neccessary.
be the change you wish to see in the world....

That's my "I'm too lazy to do much with my hair but I still wanna look cute" hairdo. Whenever I do it I get tons of compliments. The only thing I do differently is is leave my bangs down and full.
Most people who have a hard time with this style tend to over think it. The beauty of this look is that it's imperfect and a bit messy. Just do what Chloe and the others suggestedand find a good hairspray. After a little practice, you'll be able to do it in seconds.
