We do a hospitality night once a year -- invite only to people in the hospitality industry (who might tell people about how awesome we are), have a free buffet, a set number of free drinks per person, and the usual show (but with no house fee for the girls). It runs for a few hours, then the buffet and free drinks disappear and the club opens up to the usual crowd. It probably costs the owner a fair chunk of change to throw it, but I noticed a definite uptick in customers from out-of-town for several weeks after, and there's still a decent number of people talking about being referred by their concierge/bartender/waitstaff/whoever.

Damned good idea. Kudos to whomever promoted this. Great way to work with other businesses in the area to promote goodwill--there's enough bad press about the biz as it is. Thanks....

Oh, and we also have a weekly Texas Holdem tournament. Dancers get trained on how to deal and keep track of bets, then the guys who buy into the tournament get distracted by the hottest dealers in town.
uh Thats is a great way to get your liquor liscense revoked! ^^^^^^^^^^^

The industry night concept is a great idea and some of the clubs that i've worked at hold them every week on a traditionally slower night like sunday or monday.
My last club did oil wrestling once a month... guys would "bid" to be the girls "manager"... i.e. spray her down with the oil/water mix while she rubs it all over herself and give her pointers.. lol...
I knew lots of guys that came in just to see the wrestling. They would do a show with different girls at 10, 1130 and 1230... girls got free stage fee and they split what the guys bid.. say one girls winning bid is $100 and the other $60 theyd each get $80 and free stage (which is $35)... worked out well..
Guess it depends on your state. In CA you can hold poker tournaments but theres a set buy in for chips. Everyone buys in with $50 and gets set amount of chips... winner gets prize, etc... not like reg casinos where you can keep buying in and play forever... its legal here to run them like this without it being an Indian casion. Lots of regular bars do it around me but Ive never heard of it at a SC...Originally Posted by OZ_KYLE
Oz, laws vary greatly from state to state. There's nothing prohibiting poker tournaments nor free drinks for special occasions where I work, but oil/mud/jello wrestling will get your liscense revoked in a hell of a hurry. The poker tournament works with players buying in for a set amount and getting a set amount of chips, winner taking home a cash prize.
We have a Service Industry Night on Sundays, which is basically just cheap drinks and cheap appetizers, but that's a different beast than the Hospitality Ball.
we learn something new every day

Oil wrestling and stripper boxing. Your girls will hate you for it. It does, however, bring in big crowds, tons of advertizing, and word of mouth. Dancers do not make money on these nights EVER. Comp their house fee or whatever so that they come in.
