    Default underage drinking in clubs?

In my state (North Carolina) The minumum age to work at a club is 18. And they also sell beer and liquor there. I wanted to know if they keep up with everybodys age or do they just let you drink without asking for your age since you work there. Even if a customer buys you a drink will they come over and say you are not supposed to be drinking or what?

Depending on the club. Some clubs don't even care, as long as you are making the bar money thats all that counts to them. Most Strip club owners in this industry are just money hungry and don't care. I've worked in clubs when i wasn't suppose to drink and they knew my age as i was applying for the job. But i guess it also depends on how mature you are and your responsibility under the influence. But it all Really depends on the club itself though!!!!

Really, if you're underage, you're not supposed to drink, even though you work in a bar. Like SexeJaz said, sometimes the owner/managers/bartenders just turn the other cheek and don't really care, but if you got caught, the club would get in trouble, and the bartenders would lose their licenses.

but if you got caught, the club would get in trouble, and the bartenders would lose their licenses.
which is the major reason that the majority of topless alcohol clubs in other parts of the country enforce a minimum age of 21 for the dancers they hire, even though by the letter of the law they could hire anyone over 18. The practical difficulties and potential liquor license risk factors of having 'underage' dancers being legally unable to drink in a club where drinking and customer drink buying are an integral part of the club's business model is just too difficult to enforce / explain to customers.

The bartender at this one club I worked at was always hypervigilant of who was under and over. I don't know how she remembered, she just did.

There is a photo of me, with my birthday and the date I will be allowed to drink (2 and a half years) on the infamous *under 21 board* half the waitresses don't even look at it, so when I go in to the champagne court I go back out and tell the waitress (you know that grey goose and diet i ordered? can u keep it just diet) they go why? I tell them I am on the under 21 board. At another club I worked at you had to wear a white wristband if you were under 21, some men called it the child-guard. I hated that.

At those two clubs I didn't drink. Even though in the wristband club I once asked a customer for a sugar free red bull and he ordered me one with absolut (barf) without me knowing it! When you aren't especting it it's not good and I hate absolut....and at my current club which has my picture clearly posted on the under 21 board, I guess none of the waitresses bothered too look at it and didn't know. I didn't drink because I drive to that club, but it would piss me off because I don't like customers to know that I am so young.

They probably will hold that against you. IMO, managers don't like to see that a dancer has to have a few drinks before being able to work.

Anyway, I worked at a club once where the dancers and custys who were over 21 had to wear a wristband to be able to drink. I couldn't get a wristband (I'm 19) so I couldn't drink. Most guys didn't notice that I wasn't wearing one and if I was offered a drink, I'd just say, "You know, I could really go for a soda." None of the custys ever thought that was strange.

In another club, with one manager there, I could drink, and with another, I couldn't. They also had different security guards with each manager, so it was the security who watched me (and actually took a drink from me once).

Many clubs will let you know that you cannot drink at all, but after a while, stop paying attention. When I'm at work, and I'm not drinking, I just tell the custys that I'm driving home, but that I'm really thirsty and so I still want a bottle of water. The bar makes money, I'm not breaking a law, I stay hydrated. And I don't drive home with alcohol in my system, probably the most important thing.

Municipalities and society at large (in the U.S.) are big sticklers about underage drinking and also hate strip clubs so when you combine the two you have a very big problem. Underage drinkers can get the club shut down and put every one who works there out of a job, not to mention the bartender or waitress who serves you (or who the authorities *think* served you, even if they didn't) can go to jail and may not be able to get a license to serve alcohol again. Don't put everyone else at risk because you want to have a couple of drinks. Just wait until you're 21.

in our club we watch the girls that are underage. It is possibe to order drinks that customers buy you and not let them know. For example... talk to the bartender at the begininng of the night and let her know you will be drinking "sex on the beach" with no alcohol. As long as you dont call off and alcohol, they arent required to put any in and since you are underage, they cant. If you order crown and coke then they legally have to put crown in it, but they loegally cant serve it to you. Then any time a custy wants to buy you a drink tell the waiteress the let the bartender know YOU want a "sex on the beach" good luck

What part of NC. When I dances in winston Salem NO dancer was allowed to drink. I only stayed in that club 2 nights, i cant work like that.

ps... taking a few shots beoifer you go in is a good idea...just dont drive after.
