? for girls w poles or home improvement experts

ok, here's my issue. i want a removable pole. i like the model on platinumstages.com that doesn't screw in, it has the rubber grips and uses pressure and comes in a few pieces. my place has that speckled, textured ceiling. my friend said it may be sheet rock, and if the pole is installed too tight, it can damage it. i really don't want to damage the ceiling and piss people off. so here's my question, do any of you girls have this pole and the textured 'cardboard' (sarcasm) crap of a ceiling and if so, did it damage your ceiling? i will be having someone who can find studs help me put this up if i get it. i'm not too good at that...

I have that exact pole. I don't really think you have sheet rock as a ceiling though....thats ooooonly used outdoors of for floors, fireplaces. Never ceilings because of the the way it chips and it could fall down lol. you probably just have a drywall ceiling with spackle on top make to look texturized. If you find a stud it will be no problem at all!! Mine is awesome!!!

thanks for the advice! yeah, turns out it's not sheet rock like my friend thought. wanna know how i found out? the speckled crap-o paint is coming off of the ceiling! :o i know some people who can make that speckled look, so if i put up the pole, worse comes to worse, some paint peels off and we just redo it.

I have that pole. I don't have one of those ceilings like a lot of apartments do with the little chunks on them but I have a texture on my ceiling and so far no damage. I am not sure if I have it on a stud or not but it's holding fine.

That paint can be fixed up. We had a hole in the ceiling from our not-quite-so-removeable pole, and some paint had flaked off from 3 years of heavy stress around the egdes of the ring thing up there, but it wasn't really an issue to make it good.

I'm sure any number of willing guys will leap to help you 'find a stud', lol...
