    Default Unprofessionalism

Background info - I work in a peepshow, Perth Western Australia. The customer inserts coins and the window 'clears' for a set amount of coins. We have no way to communicate with them, other than yelling and mime.

I pride myself in giving a great show for the money spent.

On Friday I had a custie come and spend $20 (about 10 minutes of viewing time) about 5 minutes before I was due off stage. (We swap over, one girl does the peeps the other hustles for strips, but I was actually going home, so there were two girls waiting to start, they were doing a double show) So Im on stage doing my thing. A comes out "are you ready to change?"
"No I just had a custie drop 10 coins, Ill call out when hes gone. Put the flags up please"(the 'flags' is a chain with a closed sign across the entrance to the peep area, effectively closing off the area.)

    New custies keep coming in
"Are the flags up?" I ask - keep in mind that there are TWO girls waiting to get one stage, one can EASILY stand NEXT to the flags, and prevent customers from entering.

"they keep taking them down." A bitches "Hurry up Celeste, you've already done $100 coin, some of us want to make money too."

"I have a customer that has spent money on me. Wait till he goes, then we can swap over." Yes ok I was terse, as I HATE talking when Im trying to pretend to be all sexy.

So A calls through on the intercom to say that we are changing,(with out consulting me, so she is now getting paid for money that IM earning) walks on stage (Yes I still have a paying customer watching me) and says "Get off. We've swapped over"

"This guy has paid to see me, you take care of the other boothes, but Im not walking off on this guy."

"bitch bitch moan moan (I cant remember exactly what was said, but it was about how Ive already made lots now SHE wants to get on stage to make money)"

"Jeez A! - FINE" I grab my stuff, apologise to the customer and walk off stage. The customer also leaves, with his booth OPEN so now someone else gets a free show. I get on the intercom to the manager "Can you please apologise to that customer, I was forced to walk off stage, even though he had paid to watch me?"
He does so, and the guy buys a strip ($40 for 10 minutes) then tips me $100 in the show.

Yes it had a happy ending but I felt extremely unprofessional WALKING OFF on a paying customer. These two girls (well one of them in particular) are notorious for chatting on their phone on stage (while people are PAYING MONEY to see them) walking off stage for no good reason (yet again people complain) and abusing customers "Oh come on you cheap bastard, spend more money if you want anything to come off!" (We actually have a "policy" of being naked and doing a toys show after ONE coin - not that any of us actually DO it, but the first coins are 'teasers' as to your better shows, and abusing people at this stage of your performance causes MANY complaints.) These are a few problems, but I dont get into the dramas that they cause.

But THIS time they affected MY show and MY money.

    What would you have done?

aren't there any regular strip clubs where you're from? That sounds like it be easier. If I was in that situation though I would've stood my ground & kept dancing for the customer until his time was up. Fuck the other girls if they're going to be like that.

Hm. I would have stayed on stage no matter what. A paying customer is a paying customer. Plus, he spent good money and he might have considered coming back in the future to see you again.

Besides it was only 5min until you were off stage anyways! I think she freaked over nothin and was just being a b*tch.

Basically, she really had no place saying that. Unless you do this often (taking more time over the other girls) not letting them on stage. I would take her aside and explain why you needed to stay with him and that if she needed a few more minutes youd help her out. I wish more strippers would work together in a better professional manner.

Yup there are strip clubs, but I dont like being touched by strangers, Where I am now is strictly non contact in private dances, and there is glass between you at all other times.

Im just glad that he got a private dance from me straight away, and Im SURE he'll be back :-)

Nope Im usually the one saying, "can you make sure you're backstage 5 minutes early (as is the policy) so you can watch for customers and I can tidy up before you get on stage?"
And also if its quiet you can change over a few minutes early, while there is noone around, rather than coming in late and leaving the girl on stage wondering where you are!
But most of the girls walk in at exactly o'clock, yell "are you ready?" and often you get a custie come and drop alot right at the time. If I AM late for whatever reason I offer to give them the same time back at the end of thier hour.

Yes it is sad that so few girls are professionals and businesslike! Ive even had one girl tell a customer "dont bother dropping coins, she's crap" as he walked into the peep area. Fortunately he was a regular of mine, complained to management and she got fired. THEN he came and gave me lots of money.

Ironically the girl she was doubling up with, S, is apparently our top earner, who took home $75 in coin after 8 hours(on the shift they shared), when I walked out with $140, not counting tips for a 3.5 hour MORNING shift: 9.30am-1pm.

Saddest thing was I thought this girl A, and I were friends, but looks like she'll turn and bitch about me ASAP, just like she does most of the other girls.

So Im wondering how long it'll be before she starts the "Celeste is doing Extras" rumors.

Yes but I work at a regular topless club where the customers don't touch me. Is it that different in Australia? You can still work at a regular strip bar & give non-contact lap dances, plently of girls do it that way. But I do see how the type of dancing you're doing now seems a lot safer.
