Default Help! Any Ideas to Soothe Sore Feet?

Ok ladies, I need help. I work five days a week for eight hours every night. By the end of my shift my feet hurt so badly I can't hardly walk. We have very few girls at the club I work at so we are constantly on stage, giving dances, or walking around. I wear a pair of six-inch platform boots from Pleasures, which really aren't too high on my opinion... but the balls of my feet hurt so badly it feels like knives are going through the bottoms of my feet. I've tried everything I can think of... does anyone have any tricks of the trade to make shoes more comfortable, or does anyone have a specific brand of shoes they find comfortable? Thanks!

do you have shoes you can alternate? just changing pressure points makes a huge difference.

after the fact, there is a peppermint foot spray called 'catwalk heels' by modelco. it feels like icey breath spray for your feet and has moisturiser in it.

http://www.modelco.com.au/Cool_Feet.asp i think you guys can get it up there

Anything peppermint feels so great on hurt feet!

i soak my feet in a foot soak and then use a peppermint lotion! It really helps my feet feel better, and my boyfriend, who also works a job where he's on his feet all day, recently started letting me use the peppermint lotion on his feet too! He seems to like it!!!

I find guys to massage them or just take them off if I am talking to a guy... They always think it's funny.
I'm going to try that peppermint stuff.. I like epsom salts for my whole body in a nice hot bath, the hotter the better!
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

Vicks vapor rub. Rub it in at night, then put on socks. It will help keep you feet from hurting the next day, and will also help disolve the calouses.

Nautilus has good advice. I don't think it's a good idea to wear only one type of shoe for every hour of every shift, especially working so much. I'd also recommend making break time for yourself during your shift to just sit and elevate your feet. It is hard to do, I know, but so good just to avoid really bad problems - also stretch your ankles and feet even. There are lots of treatments to soothe tired feet, but you need to also try to avoid really damaging them in the first place. Oooh our poor dancer feet.

Try to avoid wearing heels at all if you're not working. Also, you'd probably find relief in wearing a couple of different pairs of shoes through the night, and give your feet a nice rub and stretching regimen for that inbetween time.

Make sure you have nicely maintained feet, because you can focus on finding the guys that want to see 'em while you dance!

You could try epsome salt. Not really sure the spelling of epsome* =( But try soaking your feet in that. Always worked for me. Good luck.

Get a reflexology treatment at the day spa. Works wonders for feet and the whole body!

First off go to your local (I'm assuming that you get your nails done) nail salon and tell them that you want a good pedi. Tell the tech what you do and that your feet are really hurting all the time at work. (I did that, and my pedi guy is a godsend for my feet! But I tip him rally well for that too!)

You might have callouses on your soles that are causing the extra pain. I notice around the time that I need to go get another pedi my feet hurt more from the callouses.

After that, it's just basic maintance. Ever night when you get home from work, soak your feet in a hot epsom salt bath for 30 mins. Also use an exfolating scrub on them and use peppermint lotion afterwards.

I soak then scrub, then pat dry. After that I slather on the peppemint lotion then put my feet in two (one bag for each) wal-mart bags; then put on a pair of my old grody wooly socks and keep it on for an hour. yeah I stay up after I got home for 2 hours doing this, but I can multi-task some by checking email while I am soaking, and when my feet are in the lotion socks, I can do upper body workout, yoga (to an extent) or sit ups. You can also do laundry, dishes or other stuff.

Mind ya though, it does take a wile to get used to having slippery loud crunch feet, lol. But unless I have pulled like 3 doubles (12 hr shifts) at work, they never hurt anymore.

*Oh almost forgot, if you do that for a month or so and it doesn't help; you might wat to check it a foot doc to see if you don't have either posture issues, or some form of foot problem (plantars warts, cracked bone, etc..).

Velour, I swear by Bath and Body's Peppermint Foot Scrub followed by their Peppermint Foot Lotion. It is so soothing and cooling to overworked feet. I use it in the scrub in the shower and then apply the lotion right before putting on some socks. I also occasionally put a golf ball on the rug and work my foot over it. That feels soooo good.
I wear clear plastic Pleasers at work and find that the plastic always molds to my foot, giving me more comfy shoes. That always helps me.

For a guy who has a HUGE foot fetish it is indeed interesting that I should stumble onto this discussion my first time on this site. For what it's worth I simply LOVE to massage a pretty girl's feet and on those lucky occasions when I get to go to a club and find a pretty gal who likes to have her feet massaged I am in 7th heaven as you can well imagine . Only wish I could have a girlfriend so I could massage her feet for her every night .

Well, I would literally walk around the world to have a pretty gal let me love and enjoy her pretty feet every night; would make me soooooooo very happy . I do get to go to some of the clubs here in the Twin Cities when I get the time. Every now and then I am lucky enough to come across a truly lovely gal who really loves to have her feet rubbed and loved. Only wish I could have the real thing. Any ideas?

Just a question/thought here: I personally REALLY love it when women wear dress pumps when they dance. But I don't see many dancers wearing them anymore. Why is this?

Because they hurt SOOOOO much more than plats. That and they don't make as muny cute styles in pumps as they do plats now-a-days.

It hurts like hell, at least for me.

I work at the Seville, and one of the girls there (Roz) is a very cute petite brunette who almost always wears dress pumps. She tends to work Mon-Wed and Saturday, if I remember correctly. I'm not sure how she'd feel about getting her feet pampered, but you can certainly ask.

In terms of making feet hurt less, I'm a big fan of alternating hot and ice-cold soaks whenever I can stand it; it tends to bring the swelling down nicely. And of course, you need to make sure and keep your calluses from getting too thick. When they crack, they bleed and hurt like all get out.

Epsom Salts, all the way. Soothing, and very inexpensive. Put a bunch in your bath or foot soak water for 15-20 minutes and you will feel fabulous!

I agree with LA man. find the foot fetish customer at your work (there's always at LEAST one..) and have him give them a nice footrub and pampering. chances are they'll tip you to let them do it!

lemme know if you're in the tristate area! =)
