    Default Period and pads

Ok when youare on your period, do you wear pads? I usually use tampons during the day and at work but when i sleep i like to use pads. The only problem is that i seem to be breaking out from the pad. I guess its from the no air circulation and mositure. Any ideas on what type of pads will help prevent this. I usually use always, but i recently switched to the stay free because its is upposed to dry faster. I need something else, but i dont want to go buy every brand. is there a type that isnt dry weave and will help me keep from breaking out? tahnks ladies

Yep. Me too. I will use Always, they make different sizes and types i sleep in. They seem to let air get to the area. If i have a very heavy period at night, i have to use a thick bulky pad....it sucks. Or do laundry the next day.

I use pad at nights or on the days i am not working but I found it better to use kotex because I feel like i get more air in that area. Did you try brands of pads

Take a wool sock and turn it halfway inside out so that it's doubled on itself. It wicks the moisture away quickly and lets air circulate, and you can just pop it in the washer and use it again.

I use Always as well. I try to switch back and forth between tampons and pads so I don't get the rash. Also, if its a lite day, try always slender with wings, its smaller so doesn't rub on as much skin.

ok, i reccommend this to everybody.

even if you don't care about the chemicals and stuff, think of this- the washable pads are so amazingly comfortable. they breathe, and don't get sticky, and don't bunch up and cling to your hairs and hurt when you pull down your panties. and they don't chafe or make you sweat, and they don't even smell as bad, since they allow a bit of air circulation. i switched about six months ago and i'm never going back. another good option, if you don't have extremely heavy flow at night, is the divacup. i have one of those too and it's amazing. i've been using it for so many cycles now, and because it's so convenient, i usually only wear a pad the first night because that's my o-my-gods-i'm-hemmoraghing-how-can-i-bleed-three-quarts-in-one-night night. i'll never use the disposables again. i hate them.

You know, Venus, that's a really good idea. I have endometriosis severely and I have heard theoritically that certain chemicals in conventional pads and tampons have contributed to endometriosis. Thanks for the link.
