    Default Peter Benchley is dead

Peter Benchley's fiction all stemmed from his true life fascination with the ocean and its creatures. He was a very vocal conservationist and famously condemned the rampant shark hunting that struck the shores of America after the release of the film based on his book JAWS.

If you like the ocean and it's creatures (even the mean ones) i suggest you pick up a Benchly novel. Even in Jaws the shark is a lot less of a 'villan' than it is in the (excellent) movie. It's just a shark doing what sharks do.

    Ya might even learn something.

Check it out, i really suggest it.

Yes. But isn't it ironic that people like shark steaks?
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

I liked the octupus one..."Beast", I think it was?

Threlayer: There are a great many surfers who don't ever eat shark, seeing it as a karmic agreement. It's a nice theory.

Sharks are just sharks. That's all they can be. They don'y actively hunt humans because we are too scrawny. To understand the shark (like any predetor) is to be safe from the shark. What can anyone expect a shark to be other than a shark?

People need to learn, not kill them. Stuff like "here's how you leave yourself OFF a sharks menu..." It's not hard, they are just animals. magnificently, ferociously beautiful as they just glide through the deep. Learn about them and maybe they won't eat you. Don't be stupid about them 'cause with them it's like lions, tigers, and bears, they are not fuckin' around, they need to eat. It's survival. All it takes is a little know how and you can make any shark turn it's nose from you. Know where to swim, know about sharks. Treat them with respect. They're not LOOKING to eat you, they're after a seal or something. To them, we suck. We're scrawny. Don't look like a seal and you're probably cool.

    Probably...
