    Epilators anyone?

First of all I'm new here so a big "Helloooooo"
I've just ordered one of those Braun body system epliator things, so tired of shaving and waxing is too much of a hindrance. Anyone had any experiences with epilating, good or bad?

i have one and use it sometimes. i like how i stay smoother for a longer period of time. the only drawbacks are that it takes awhile, depending on the type you use, and it can also hurt. take some advil, bite down and bear it....not as bad as getting a tattoo, but probably comparable to waxing in terms of pain....however this pain is over a long period of time rather than a quick flick of the wrist. also, don't use it the same day as when you have to work, or have a social function. it can make your legs red and the follicles inflamed. apply some lotion afterwards and it should help. before you epilate: exfoliate and make sure your skin is sweaky clean: makes it easier for it to do its job. overall, i like it. the pain is not too bad (then again i'm a tattoo junkie)...the only thing that prevents me from doing it is the time factor. personally, i think it's better than waxing because you don't have to wait for lots of regrowth. some machines are powerful and suck up everything.

I used to use an epilator before, but now I don't need to. I rarely even shave my legs anymore and I think it may be as a result of the epilation over a period of time as the hair there is now really sparse.

I used to also use it on my bikini line to try and avoid razor bumps, but since I discovered Tendskin, I don't need to anymore.

Shop around for epilators. I know companies are improving them to reduce the pain that they cause so you may be able to buy one that is near to being pain-free. But you will still feel a nip. You know what they say - no pain, no gain! *groan*

I have one, Emjoi brand. I use it mainly on my legs, hurts under arms & on bikini line. It also seems to burn up batteries pretty quick. Mine is about 4 yrs old, I think the newer ones are easier on the skin. I saw a smaller, slimmer one on QVC (where i bought the last one). It sold out.

    Thank you!

I'm not too bothered about pain as i wax my bikini line already, just tired of shaving my legs, i have waxed my legs before but i just find it messy and too time consuming, not to mention regrowth.
I know theyve moved on a lot from how they used to be, most of the horror stories are from old devices. I look forward to a summer without having to shave my legs every day lol

I use the Braun kind that I bought a while ago maybe 5 years and it works very well and it's not too painfull.
