Default A Little Update and Dilemma

A little update for those who remember me - I actually moved from Tampa back to New York about a month and a half ago (completely on a whim) and only yesterday FINALLY got internet again.

Anyway, I needed a job, so I went to audition at Scores two weeks ago and got hired. I only went in once since then and was completely intimidated. Much bigger club, gorgeous girls and more rules than I can remember. I either need to find another club or suck it up and just go in and actually try to make some money. What can I do to try and feel comfortable in this club, and are there any other girls on SW that used to work at Scores or still do?

And I couldn't believe the news story about Scores when it first came out a few weeks ago - I auditioned 4 days before the story came out!! Then I came here today and read the thread about the IRS auditing every dancer that works there or has worked there in the past 3 years...and now I'm extremely uneasy.

I haven't paid any taxes because I only turned 18 this past summer, and I've only worked at Scores for a night so far - what are the chances that the IRS will want anything to do with me?

First of all I'm a guy, but a long time SW member. You work at the number one club in the US or at least in the top ten clubs. You must be extremely pretty and classy with personality or you wouldn't be there. Sounds like you are intimidated, yet you were good enough to walk in and get hired there, which many dancers can't do. Some can't even get auditions there and you walked in a got the job! Suck it up and obey the rules and laugh all the way to the bank. Unless there are other reasons which you did not state in your post, you have a chance of making some big money. You do however, have the right to be intimidated as the competition there can be daunting. Good luck.

What they said is right... you got in. I would love to get into Scores so easily. Now, just relax and do your thing. I understand how you'd be intimidated though. But give it at least 3 weeks before bailing. I don't know what to say about the tax thing.

Don't be intimidated by the crowd. Look at each guy individually and see if he's interested, if not look on to the next and the next all night. DO NOT try to take it all in right now. Just be happy on the floor and scan the faces. By the end of the night you'll see your stack and tomorrow you'll feel more comfortable. As far as the tax situation goes...pay them. There's alot of attention on them now. They aren't very trustworthy but if you want to stay in the club in the next 6 months or more, judge whether you like how the management, customers, and girls treat you. If they aren't abusive in any way and you like it...bank, bank, bank and save, save, save! Read this, try it, then choose! www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61893

I'm intimidated by entertainers at Scores too...and I've been running clubs for over a decade. I was just at Scores West for the superbowl, and went into Scores East for businesss that monday.

The demeanor, costuming, and looks of (NY) Scores girls has few parallels nationwide.

about the taxes, i seriously doubt the irs will bother you. and even if they do, they'll quickly go away, simply because this fiscal year should be the first time you've ever been required to file taxes. even if you worked at a comic book shop or something when you were 16, chances are the government owed you money, as you were exempt, and they love it when people don't claim their refunds. as long as they owe you money, you're not at all required to file.

as for the club honey, good luck, but i'm sure you'll do fine.

I think I sent you one a while back as Bunny, but my account is messed up. Congrats on getting hired at Scores! I'm sure you were nervous when you started dancing here in Tampa so just make yourself go and you'll get over it eventually. I didn't even know you were so young. I never would have had the guts at 18 to work as a dancer, and still get nervous thinking about it but I think I might try again. As far as taxes go, I'd just start filing. You really just started so just start saving some up for taxes and paying your taxes and you have nothing to worry about. The first job I ever had I was told by my boss I didn't have to pay any taxes because I was under 18 and I was a student. So they didn't withhold any and guess what? I owed a ton of money at the end of the year but my mom paid it and that was that.

Considering the tax thing I wouldn't feel so "lucky" to have been hired there. 1) They will of course have had a large number of girls leaving; 2) they likely don't have as many girls auditioning there now after this news; 3) 1 and 2 mean they'll be a bit more anxious to hire some new girls; and 4) I wouldn't want my name to show up in the new IRS list for Girls Who've Been Working at Scores and Not Paying Taxes - just having worked the one night is enough to get on the list, but continuing to work there will make matters worse...

Of course, you would have to be hot to get hired there, I would think, even in a situation like this, so I'd presume you could get hired at another NYC club such as PEC, Hustler, etc. I'd be trying that.

If you pay your taxes from now on, the IRS may audit you, but what will they find? Nothing.

It would be interesting to know what effect recent events have had on business at Scores. Perhaps you could review them here on SW, since it's been a while since anyone has.
