    ^^^ Coooonfidence, that's it. ^^^

People ask me, "Why do you play big band when it's so unpopular and girls hate it? Why do you wear garter belts if they're so hard to put on?"

Because damnit, I feel DAMN sexy and happy when I'm dancing to Go Daddy Go and look like a vintage pinup model. It's me. As long as Barbie is HAPPY as Barbie, she'll make money.

Who're your fashion role models? Emulate them!

I emulate Dita Von Teese because I love her style and that's the image I want to portray and it's the image that makes me feel sexiest!

Want to be the sex kitten porn star type like Pamela Anderson? It's all about what makes you feel confident and what makes you smile. ^^

i've only been dancing a few weeks. i have a very short brown bob, glasses and wear next to no make-up. i'm 5'4", 135 lbs, 36,25,34. i dance in cowboy boots, cut-off shorts and bikinis with cute prints. i work at a small club with a wide range of girls with unique looks. i'm not sure what gets the most attention, but as a newbie i just go with what i'm most comfortable with. i think when the customer can see that you're enjoying yourself, they'll feel more comfortable with you, no matter what your particular style happens to be.

The Barbies on the other hand, feeling that their appearances give them an advantage, tend to rest on their laurels, or approach with that same scripted porn-actress like personality that comes across to lonely guys as phony and condesending. The one that hey've seen it a thousand times at home on their TV or computer monitor. They might not neccesarily mind it, but they didn't pay a door cover and a round of overpriced drinks for that sort of thing.[/QUOTE]

Doc-Catfish makes a good point as he usually does.

I see too many girls who "think" they are hot, sachet around the floor "waiting" and "expecting" guys to flag them down, rather than approaching each guy and using "sincere" selling skills to make their money.

I don't know how you work the floor, maybe you should post a reply under your thread and let us know.

Being a stripper/dancer isn't about dancing. This is a selling job. Your looks aren't the problem. Guys will buy from a 9 or 10 no matter what type of environment she works in, IF she is friendly, down to earth, AND has good selling skills.

That is why every dancer should take the Dancer Wealth seminar. It takes the misconception out of dancers minds regarding what being a stripper is really about. The girls who make the most money in this business have learned how to build rapport or get the customer comfortable with them first, and once that happens the sale comes easily.

If a dancer is pretty but snobby who wants to spend money on her?

Yes i'm better than you loser), that I look too much like a princess, too high maintenance .... who cares I was still one of the top earner, because I know how to talk to them, so yes it is a questions of attitude.

Often, I hear about this "beautiful, gorgeous goddess" dancer from customers who are smitten and are spending every penny of discretionary income on. Usually, when I finally see the girl, she is almost never the most physically attractive in my eyes. Plus, I saw all the girls in the dressing room without the flattering lights. Its trully about rapport and sales...taking care to look physically good helps all that much more!

The flip side to Katrine's point (which I think we all share - in the club, we are all GENERALLY, with one or two exceptions, left going "huh?" when told that we have just met the most beautiful and perfect woman in the world) is the girl who thinks that because she has blonde hair and implants that she is really beautiful. Being a "stereotypical stripper" doesn't make you pretty. I don't think you have to be the most stunning girl in the club to make money - but being skinny and blonde also doesn't mean that you are prettier than the chubby brunette (although I'm sure that all the skinny blondes on this site are much prettier than the chubby brunettes not on this site). If customers aren't buying from you, it means one thing and one thing only - you need to try harder, no matter what your own evaluation of your appearance.
